CJ YJ TJ TUBE FENDERS INSTALLATION

Thank you for purchasing Poison Spyder Tube Fenders for your Jeep. Installation is fairly simple with the right tools and good mechanical abilities. If you are not confident in your mechanical skills, please seek the help of a professional to perform the installation. Please read through these entire instructions before proceeding with installation.

TOOLS NEEDED• Fine-tipfeltmarker• Sockets, ratchet, end-wrenches and hexkeys

• Cut-offwheel,pneumaticbodysaw,plasmacutterorreciprocatingsaw(orothersuitablecuttingdevice)

• Drillmotor• 1/4”drillbit• 3/8”drillbit(CJandYJ)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE1. Parkvehicleonalevelsurfaceandsetthe

emergencybrake.Youwillwanttoweareyeprotectionbeyondthispointintime.

2. Removeanyexistingplasticfenderflaresfromthevehicle.

3. Disconnect all turn signalwires from theturnsignallighthousing(checkforanyotherloosewiringandbesureitisoutoftheway.

4. Cutout theprovided template (pages5-8of these instructions) and lay over the topofthestockfender.Alignthebackedgeofthe templatewith thecorner formedby thelipofthefenderandthetubfirewall.Traceanoutlineontothefenderwithafinetipfeltmarker.

5. Removethethreeboltsthatattachthestockfendertothegrill.Settheseboltsaside,theywillbere-usedtomounttheTubeFender.

6. Cutalongthetracedcut-line(fromStep4)with a pneumatic body saw, reciprocatingsaw, cut-off wheel or other appropriatecutting tool. The cut will begin behind thefrontmountingpointthatattachedthefenderto the grill, and continue all the way backthroughthepartofthefenderthatboltsthefendertothefirewall(cutthroughthis).

Note: your stock inner fender will NOT be attached to the Jeep’s tub. Rather, it will attach to the Tube Fenders.7. Next youwill be removing the side sheet

metalofthestockfender.Measureastraightlinefromthebottomof the inner fenderwellto the cut you made in the previous step(measureinfromtheouteredgeofthestockfender1” forTJandCJ/YJ). Makethiscutwithyourcuttingtoolofchoice.

8. Unbolt and remove the remnants of thestock outer fender. Leave the stock innerfender “hanging” in place in the enginecompartment.

9. Loosen the front center body mount,locateddirectlyunderthegrill.

10.Position the Tube Fender in place, andlooselythreadinallmountinghardware.

11.With the first Tube Fender loosely fitted,repeat the previous steps for the oppositesideTubeFender.

12.Once both Tube Fenders are looselyinstalled,tightenallmountinghardware.

Checkandadjustalignmentas you tightenthe hardware. Re-tighten the front-centerbodymount.

13.WiththeTubeFenderssecuredintoplace,pullthestockinnerfenderbackintolocation.Drill all ten inner fender mounting holes,usingtheholesintheTubeFenderasyourdrillguide.

Usetheprovided1/4”hardwaretoattachtheinnerfendertotheTubeFender.OnCJ/YJ,use the provided 3/8” hardware to bolt theinsideoftheTubeFendertothestockinnerfender.

HELPFUL TIPS & NOTES• Install and test-fit Tube Fender in placeBEFOREpainting.

• Youwillbecuttingoffalmostallofthestockouter fender. Whenall thecutshavebeenmade, there should only be the top of theouterfenderleft.Thesideofthefenderwillbegone.

• A ratchet strap is sometimeshelpful topullthe Tube Fenders down into place whentighteningthebolts.

• In some cases it is necessary to trim thebatterytraytocleartheTubeFender.

• OnCJ’s, theheadlightbezelandassemblywill need to be removed to access the topnut (this is the secondhole down from thetop, and not an original fender mountingholewhichisnowblockedbythenewTubeFender).

• Itisrecommendedtorelocateturnsignalsinaccordancewithyourlocallaws.

• Saveallfactorymountinghardware,itwillbere-used.

• Thehood latchwill attach to the remainingportionof thestock fender. Besurenot tocutthispartoff!

WARRANTYPoison Spyder Customs™ warranties all of

the products we sell and distribute for one (1) year from the date of sale. These products will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal installation, and use. Due to the intended use the powder coat finish is warranted for ninety (90) days. The finish warranty will not cover a product if it has been damaged in any way. Warranty is limited to repair or replacement. Poison Spyder Customs™ does not offer any type of labor or shipping allowance and all warranty claims are subject to inspection by Poison Spyder Customs™.At the discretion of Poison Spyder Customs™, the products in question can be repaired or replaced when found defective. Prior to any replacement or repair, written authorization must be obtained from Poison Spyder Customs™. Failure to contact us prior to having warranty work preformed will immediately void all applicable warranties; and it is then the sole responsibility of the customer to remit any payment incurred.The warranty expressed above is the sole warranty of Poison Spyder Customs™, and any other expressed or implied warranties are hereby specifically excluded and disclaimed.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT1. In purchasing a Poison Spyder Customs

Product™ I release, waive, discharge andcovenantnottosuePoisonSpyderCustomsofficers, servants, agents, or employees(hereinafter referred toasReleasees) fromanyandallliability,claims,demands,actionsandcausesofactionwhatsoeverarisingoutoforrelatedtoany loss,damage,or injury,including death, that may be sustained byme(oranyoneelse),anypropertybelongingtome(oranyoneelse),whethercausedbythenegligenceofthereleaseesorotherwise,whileworkingon,usingoranyactivityrelatedtothisproduct.

2. IamfullyawareofrisksandhazardsconnectedwiththeuseofathisproductandIelecttovoluntarilyengageinsuchuseofthisproductknowing that theusemaybehazardous tomeandmyproperty.Ivoluntarilyassumefullresponsibility forany risksof loss, propertydamageorpersonal injury, includingdeath,

that may be sustained by me (or anyoneelse), or any loss or damage to propertyownedbyme (oranyoneelse),asa resultofusingthisproduct,whethercausedbythenegligenceofreleaseesorotherwise.

3. Ifurtheragreetoindemnifyandholdharmlessthereleaseesfromanyloss,liability,damageor costs, including court cost and attorneyfees,thattheymayincurduetomyuseofathisproduct,whethercausedbynegligenceofreleaseesorotherwise.

4. ItismyexpressintentthatthisReleaseandHold Harmless Agreement shall bind themembers ofmy family and spouse, if I amalive, and my heirs assigns and personalrepresentative, if I amdeceased, and shallbedeemedasarelease,waiver,discharge,and covenant not to sue theabovenamedreleasees.IfurtheragreethatthisWaiverofLiabilityandHoldHarmlessAgreementshallbeconstruedinaccordancewiththelawsoftheStateofCalifornia.

TEMPLATE SECTION 1

Use this template to trim away your Jeep’s stock fender prior to installing Poison Spyder Tube Fenders.

1. Print the first page of this file then measure the calibration scale as shown at left. It should measure 5” from end to end. If it measures slightly more or less, adjust the % size settings in your printer driver and re-print. Continue to adjust until the Calibration Ruler prints out at exactly 5” long. Once calibration is complete, print all pages of the template.

2. Cut along the horizontal GRAY DOTTED lines at the top and bottom of each section of the template.

3. Align the four template sections using the thin vertical alignment line to the left of each section. Align points A to A, B to B, and so on. Tape the sections together (make sure your tape is mostly inside the thick black lines).

4. Carefully cut around the OUTSIDE edge of the thick black line, except where the lines of each taped-together section are adjacent.

5. Your Template is now complete, you may proceed with the Tube Fender Installation Instructions.
