After decades of collective experience navigating the ‘boom or bust’ construction industry; the JEDD team believed we had seen it all. However, the unprecedented impact of the current global economic downturn on the construction industry has changed that.

ABOUT US

Walter Mgiba BTech.Eng(Civil) - Operations Director

Walter is the spearhead of Jedd! Walter has led an inspirational life. From his early days at school, through college and now as a mature young leader, he has shown unrivalled ability and leadership. He has spent 12 years with Jedd, after he completed his studies at Vaal Technikon. 12 years of hard work, listening and learning, so that today his skills are immense.

He is an extremely proficient engineer, manager and leader of men. His reputation attests to his ability to hold council with men and women of all ages, colour and creed. His CV shows the contracts that he has personally managed and completed successfully.

Jedd Civils has deservedly positioned itself as a highly regarded Construction Company mainly operating in the coal mining eld. Walter has been in the forefront of this growth to success, from a young, keen engineer to the position that he now holds, majority shareholder and Managing Director and Director of Operations.

Nigel Shoobridge N.Dip(Pr.Man) - Director - Small Works

Nigel has spent 30 years working and prevailing across all areas of the construction industry and includes extensive experience in the mining, industrial, materials and agricultural sectors.

He holds qualifications in Business and Project Management and his specific areas of expertise include: process plants, conveyors, weighbridge foundations, warehouses, waste paper plants, concrete floors and roads, silos and tunnels. Nigel is the versatile and multi-faceted Director in charge of Small Works and Business Development.

Jason Chapman Bsc.Eng(Mech) - JEDD Group Managing Director

After qualifying as a mechanical engineer, Jason spent six years in mechanical design and materials management. This provided an excellent grounding in systems, production processes, manufacturing and operations. In addition, his subsequent experience in project management, civil engineering as well as the building and construction fields is what made his initial appointment as Project Manager for the JEDD Group, in 2006, so exciting.

Along with his expertise in commercial and retail development, Jason specialises in the development, project management and marketing of exclusive up-market cluster schemes. His success in these various construction fields led to Jason’s appointment as Managing Director for the JEDD Group, in 2016.

Dave Chapman Pr.Eng.BSc.Eng.(Civil) - Chairman

Dave is a registered professional engineer and professional construction manager including, a diploma in financial management. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the civil engineering and construction industries, gained through work for various companies before starting his own, successful businesses.

Dave’s contract experience is vast and varied and ranges from the building of concrete bridges, roads, reservoirs, sewage and water works, township infrastructure, welded pipelines, houses and office buildings to secure sectional title developments, lifestyle cluster complexes, retirement villages, industrial warehouses, commercial office parks and other property developments. This experience along with a keen eye for detail has enabled Dave to triumph as our Chairman.
