Rail Level CrossingsPilbara MineralsPilbara Minerals engaged Engenium to Detail Design and Document the upgrade of two existing rail level crossings for Fortescue Metals Group and BHP, from unsealed to sealed crossings. The rail level crossings required both vertical and horizontal alignment modifications, new signage and linemarking.As part of the rail level crossings upgrades communication and signal earthworks pads were required for conversion from passive to active level crossings.

Yandi Access RoadBHPThe Yandi Access Road project was an upgrade to the existing unsealed rail maintenance track. The project involved the following detailed design and documentation of the following:

• Upgrade and realignment of Heath Break Hill Access Road within new tenement boundaries.

• Upgrade of the existing unsealed M281.2 Rail Level Crossing to a new sealed crossing, to ALCAM recommendations.

• Upgrade of approximately 6 km of access road along the existing BHP rail line.

The project required the following:• Vertical and Horizontal Alignment Design• Formation and Pavement Widening• New Unsealed Pavement• Hydraulic Analysis for new drainage structures• Open Channel and Culvert Extensions• Signage and Linemarking.

Lithium-Tantalum Mine ProjectPilbara MineralsEngenium was appointed the Project Management Consultants for this project. As part of the works we were asked to complete the Detailed Design and Documentation of earthwork pads, internal access roads within the non-process area and to the accommodation village.This included:• Bulk and Detailed Earthwork Pads, Process and

Non-Process Areas.• ROM Pad• Road Design• Pavement Design• Hydrology and Hydraulic Analysis• Drainage and Floodway Upgrades• Signage• Under and Above Ground Services.

Wodgina Access RoadPilbara MineralsEngenium was asked to Detail Design and Document the upgrade of 8 km of existing unsealed access road to a MRWA RAV 6 Network rating from the Great Northern Highway to the BHP 91.3km Rail Level Crossing. The existing access road required the following upgrades:• Vertical and Horizontal Alignment Design• Formation and Pavement Widening• New Unsealed Pavement• Hydrology and Hydraulic Analysis• Drainage and Floodway Upgrades• Signage.

Great Northern Highway / Wodgina Access Road IntersectionPilbara MineralsAs well as the Wodgina Access Road itself, Engenium was also engaged to Detail Design and Document (to MRWA Standards) the upgrade of the existing unsealed intersection, where the Wodgina Access Road meets the Great Northern Highway. The intersection was also required to accept MRWA RAV 6 Network vehicles. This included:• A new Sealed Intersection.• A new Decelaration Lane and an Extension of the

existing Acceleration Lane.• Signage and Linemarking.• Realignment and Rehabilitation of an existing Camp

Side Access Road.
