The warning on this sign tells our story of the mission season for Project Knox and City Reach Knoxville. It seems just days ago we hosted the Itawamba Baptist Collegiate Ministry from Fulton, MS as our first team
during Spring Break 2017! Through the month of July in 2017, Project Knox has hosted 13 teams and CityReach Knoxville has hosted 27 teams. These mission teams had over 725 volunteers from 9 states and 24 cities across Tennessee. Through these connections, our KCAB churches have been assisted with multiple Vacation Bible Schools, Backyard Kids Clubs, Community Outreach, Prayer Walks, Block Parties, and distribution of Bibles and DVD’s on “The Life of Jesus”. The ministries of KCAB and a few churches have also received assistance in repair/construction with their facilities. These projects included a new rest room, a new boardwalk to the bath house at Camp BaYoCa, a renovated sign, new stripes in parking lots, a new awning and landscaping. One of the cornerstones of mission trips is the ability to adapt. While it is always best to have a good plan, even the best of them can change. This was evident in Rich Murray’s team from Mountain View Baptist in Johnson City, TN. The plan was to host a basketball camp, complete with a tournament and giveaways. However, the weather became wet and rainy and it was impossible to carry out the plan on an outdoor court. The decision was made to use the day differently by walking the neighborhood looking for opportunities to share the Gospel. At a seldom visited apartment complex they encountered a mixture of young men and youth. While sharing with them in a kickball game, three of the youth accepted Christ! This kind of adaptation to God’s plan became a recurring theme for our groups this summer as His plan was revealed through circumstance and our teams responded with a willingness to go wherever He led, which produced a new and unplanned opportunity for ministry. The Prayer Walks and prayers of many friends and church families have played an integral part in our missions this year. Special thanks to Janice Scruggs for her efforts in praying for mission teams, church members, projects, and the many lives of individuals who may not know Our Lord.
Steve Snyder Project Knox/City Reach Coordinator
On a Sunday night in June a Project Knox mission team arrived at Camp BaYoCa, planning to help with girls out-reach camp. We had no way of getting in touch with them to let them know we lost power due to a big storm. They showed up to camp ready to pour love into campers only to find out the plans had drastically changed. They volunteered to change plans and help clean up camp from the storms and to prepare for the rest of the summer. The mission team was a great example of what a servants heart looks like in action! God even helped create opportunities for the mission team to pour the love of Christ into some local people. While handing out flyers to the community for a Summer Kickoff Block Party , they got to present the gospel to a lady who had given up on faith all together. That was just one of the ways God continued to move when everything seemed too chaotic to have purpose.
More adapting on mission...
No electricity from the storm?
Adapt with old fashioned weed
cutters. Something they’d never
seen before!

“Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime” (Any-3) Evangelism Training, August 4 & 5 at KCAB
Led by Mike Shipman. PLEASE DO NOT POST THIS TRAINING ON ANY PUBLIC WEB SITE OR SOCIAL MEDIA Mike has served as a church planting trainer for the International Mission Board, SBC. Since 2005 . ANY 3 (Any One, Any Where, Any Time) is a biblical and practical approach to sharing the gospel. Mike developed this method while working with a Muslim Unreached People Group. Any 3 approach to sharing the gospel has led thousands of Muslims to say “Yes” to Jesus and enter into new communities of faithful discipleship. Churches all across the USA have seen God greatly use this approach through their people both overseas and in their own communities to bring people to Christ. Any 3 is now being used among Hindus, Buddhists and in many faiths where one believes that good works is the way to gain favor with God. Plan to join us for this exciting time of learning and sharing with Any One, Any Where & Any Time. This training is for ministers and lay people who have a heart to see the lost come to God. UTK PRAYER WALK — DEFY THE 80% Hosted by the UTK Baptist Collegiate Ministry You have probably heard the statistics. Around 80% of your graduating seniors will disconnect from faith once they come to college. The harder fact is that many of these incoming students have no background in faith to even walk away from. So will you help us by joining us in prayer before the Fall semester starts. Would you come cover the campus in prayer so we might see revival happen at the University of Tennessee? PRAYER WALK INFO Join us at the BCM at 8:30 on August 12th We will begin wtih a light breakfast and to hear from the staff about BCM ministry. From there, you will join with a group to go to different parts of campus to pray. Expect to be out for about 45 minutes to an hour. Do not be discouraged from coming if walking is an issue; there will be close and in-house prayer opportunities as well. RSVP: Please let us know if you're coming so we can ensure that we have enough breakfast to energize all of our prayer warriors! Email [email protected] or call 865-546-8272

"CTV32" Catch the Vision 32--Cleveland OH August 21-- August 23 NAMB This tour has a special focus, for pastors who have not attended a CTV in a Send City with NAMB in the past. The aim is to mobilize new churches, and the North American Mission Board. NAMB is able to scholarship the ground expenses for those attending. The limited scholarship allows for a pastor to bring one person with him. A “Catch the Vision Tour” (CTV) is typically a two-day experience where church pastors and key leaders travel to a Send City and are hosted by NAMB's Send City Missionary. The purpose of the vision tour is to: explore the city in-person; to gain a better understanding of what it means to plant churches in an urban environment; to meet church planters and to see their ministries first-hand to explore potential partnerships.
