At 39, Rachel finds herself single and unemployed. After in-heriting her late aunt’s house, border collie, and rescue kennel, Rachel decides to take a chance even though she knows absolutely nothing about dogs. Zoe’s ex-husband gives their children a puppy, but she is the one taking care of it. Frustrated, it isn’t until Toffee leads Zoe to a handsome doctor that things start looking up. Meanwhile, trying to have a baby has caused some problems in Natalie and Johnny’s marriage. But they’re not certain that their basset hound Bertie is the solution. The lives of each of the charac-ters become intertwined, and as they meet through their dogs they learn about loyalty, companionship and unconditional love.
