Keith Brantley, community griot and wordsmith, has served as host of the Poets’ Corner for 20 years with creativity, dedication, and commitment. In continuing to tell our stories through poetry and spoken word, the baton has been passed to Lablaque, an avid supporter of the Poets’ Corner. Founded at the West Las Vegas Arts Center in 1997, the Poets’ Corner premiered as the first established poetry program in Las Vegas. For more information, call 702-229-ARTS (2787) or visit www.artslasvegas.org. Brush St., 702-229-ARTS (2787). No preparation is necessary. Audition is improvisation. All actors will be at audition until about 3 p.m., and near that time, some people will be released. But this dragon is a peace-loving, poetry-spouting fellow who would much prefer a cup of tea to a battle. Rehearsals will begin Aug. 21 and there will be seven performances Sept. 22-Oct. 1 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center. Call 702-229-6553 for more information.
