Ed Darrow: Good evening. Welcome to the City of Auburn Zoning Board of Appeals. I’m board
chairman, Edward Darrow. Tonight we will be hearing 198 Genesee Street. 6 Lexington Avenue
has requested an adjournment to March 23, 2020 in order to get an engineered traffic study for
the parcel.

Chair asks if there are any deletions, additions or corrections to be made to the January 27, 2020
meeting minutes. There is one correction to be made and once that is made, the minutes stand
approved.

Chair invites applicant to approach and review what they would like to do.
Dan Testa advised that the applicant has gone back to the drawing board with their designer,
A&M Graphics. There is an existing sign not compliant with the Code. Brian Hicks asked for
more time to review the new submittal to cross reference with the Code for the allowables. Chair
asked for questions from the Board. There were none. Matter was adjourned to March 23, 2020.

sign area based on the zoning district in which it is located. The maximum sign area may be split among permitted sign types, not to exceed the allowed maximum of three signs.

REASON(What specifically is applicant requesting and what the ordinance limitations are)
Applicant is requesting to be reheard on a change to a previously approved area variance (11/25/2019) for
a 12’ x 18’ roofed pavilion. A variance of 72 square feet over the allowed 144 square feet, which was
approved. The applicant is requesting that this 72 square feet be allowed to be increased to 104 square
feet.
The proposed pavilion would be 320 square feet. They are allowed 216 square feet by previous variance,
thus the difference of 104 square feet. §305.25B2(a)(3)
PERTINENT TITLE, SECTION, PARAGRAPH OF ZONING ORDINANCE:
§305.25 Accessory uses and Structures
B. Permit Required
2. Particular permitted accessory structures and uses.
(a) Accessory structures and uses include, but are not limited to, the following list
of examples; provided, however, that each structure or use shall comply with the
standards and requirements of Subsection B(1) above.
[3] Storage shed. A structure used for storage incidental to a permitted use,
including garden and storage sheds; personal greenhouses and nurseries
shall not exceed 144 square feet.
