• Today we’re going to a) Have a public hearing on the tax levyb) Introduce and hold a public hearing on the budget

ordinancec) Hold a record vote ratifying the property tax revenue

increase

2013-14 Budgeta) First public hearing of a proposed property tax levy for

the City of San Angelo for the 2013 tax year• On August 6, 2013 Council took a record vote to

propose a property tax rate• The adopted rate may not exceed 0.781/$100

valuation• The property tax levy ordinance will be introduced at

the regular City Council meeting September 3, 2013

2013-14 Budgetb) These items are included in this budget:

• Meet & Confer contract $465,138

• Fire Training Center Debt Service$200,000

• Contractually obligated target increase requests$2,445

• Contingency (raises, priorities, target increases, etc.)$1,308,635

“Ratify the property tax increase of 2.52% as reflected in the newly adopted budget and place the adoption of this tax rate increase on the agenda for the September 3, 2013 regular meeting of the City Council as an action item.”
