Citrine in Two Sentences Citrine Informatics is the data analytics platform for the physical world. The platform integrates and mines vast quantities of technical data on materials, chemicals, devices, and systems to streamline product development, manufacturing, and sales for major industrial corporations.

Benefits to Customers The Citrine platform delivers the following specific benefits to customers across three key business activities: (1) reduction of notoriously high product development risk by guiding customers to optimal engineering decisions around materials; (2) optimization of yield and lifetime by mapping the effects of process variations in manufacturing; and (3) optimization of sales by matching consumers and suppliers of materials based on their respective needs and capabilities.

Key Platform Capabilities (1) Turn scattered technical documents into a unified database. The vast majority of data about materials, chemicals, devices, and associated systems exist in unstructured sources such as publications, technical reports, and data sheets. Any databases that do exist tend to be small and siloed. Citrine’s data extraction pipeline uses natural language processing, machine vision, and a sophisticated decision-making system to extract structured, quantitative facts from these unstructured sources.

Citrine’s machine learning identifies critical signals in customers’ data and makes new insights available to engineers in product development, manufacturing, and technical sales. Specifically, Citrine’s platform screens vast numbers of possible directions and utilizes both global and local optimization to suggest the best paths forward. Further, our customers and other third parties can develop their own apps on top of the Citrine infrastructure.
