Brief  Bibliography  Hazreena  Hussein  has  16  years  of  progressive  teaching  and  research  experience  in  coordina9ng  both  na9onal  and  interna9onal  academic  programs  and  research  projects,  primarily  in  the  most  pres9gious  university  in  Malaysia,  University  of  Malaya.  She  began  her  career  in  Malik  Lip  &  Associates  as  an  Assistant  Landscape  Architect,  designing  and  preparing  landscape  design  plans  and  specifica9ons  for  construc9on  projects.  She  holds  a  doctoral  degree  in  Landscape  Architecture  from  the  Graduate  Research  School,  Edinburgh  College  of  Art  (supervision  by  Professor  Catharine  Ward  Thompson  and  Professor  Peter  Aspinall).    Her  doctoral  thesis  has  been  evaluated  by  one  of  the  world  experts  on  landscape  architecture,  design  for  children’s  needs  and  environment-­‐behaviour  research:  Professor  Robin  Moore,  the  Director  of  Natural  Learning  Ini9a9ve,  College  of  Design,  North  Carolina  State  University,  USA.        Hazreena’s  research  interests  are  on  Environment  –  Behaviour  interac9ons,  inclusive  access  to  outdoor  environments  and  Mul9sensory  s9mula9on  environments.  The  par9cular  focus  of  her  doctoral  work  has  been  on  accessible  design  in  rela9on  to  the  use  of  sensory  gardens,  par9cularly  by  children  with  special  educa9onal  needs.  Among  her  recent  ar9cle  publica9ons  are  ‘Examining  the  methods  for  inves9ga9ng  behavioural  clues  of  special  schooled  children’  in  Field  Methods;  ‘Sa9sfac9on  and  percep9on  of  residents  towards  bioclima9c  design  strategies’  in  Indoor  and  Built  Environment;  ‘Landscape  and  sustainability:  Three  residen9al  college  buildings  in  the  tropics’  in  Open  House  Interna9onal;  and  ‘A  study  on  different  natural  ven9la9on  approaches  at  a  residen9al  college  building  with  the  internal  courtyard  arrangement’  in  Energy  and  Buildings.        Hazreena  has  also  translated  part  of  her  doctorate  thesis  into  a  book,  9tled  ‘Taman  Sensori  untuk  Kanak-­‐Kanak  Berkeperluan  Khas’  (Sensory  Garden  for  Children  with  Special  Needs).  Her  work  has  been  awarded  as  the  Best  Paper  at  the  Asia  Pacific  Interna9onal  Conference  in  London  2013,  9tled  ‘Engaging  research  and  prac9ce  in  crea9ng  for  outdoor  mul9-­‐sensory  environments:  Facing  future  challenges’.  Her  other  recogni9ons  awarded  by  the  University  of  Malaya,  includes  The  Dis9nguish  Service  Award  (2012),  PhD  comple9on  period  less  than  4  years  (2010)  and  Excellent  Service  Award  (2005  and  2014).  She  serves  as  the  editorial  board  of  Asian  Journal  of  Environment-­‐Behaviour  Studies  and  Journal  of  ASIAN  Behavioural  Studies  for  the  Centre  of  Environment-­‐Behaviour  Studies.  Both  journals  are  indexed  in  MyJurnal  and  Elsevier.
