locations: Burke, Butler, BorrowDirect, HSL Burke Library data is available from June

2004, after switch from SOPHIA to CLIO No circulation data for non-circulating

collections

Burke Library Happening Location Focus is on data from Burke Library

Happening Location Five primary types of circulation activity:

charge, discharge, renewal, recall and hold

Most renewals, recalls and holds are placed dynamically by patrons in the OPAC happening location (via “My Library Account”)

NB: circulation data includes primarily on campus collections

Observations Charge volume at Burke in FY13 is 87.1% of

FY05 (first full year of Voyager) System-wide it is 67.7% of FY04 Volume of discharges mirrors charges FY11 upswing of renewals attributed to

training at Burke Circulation◦ Incoming supervisor trained Circ staff to be more

service oriented◦ Staff offer renewal service to patrons

Burke Circulation by Patron Group 70-80% of all usage is to graduate students

and faculty Patron Group definitions have changed:

◦ UTS Affiliates, in 2007 changed from UTA to VIS◦ Adjunct faculty, in 2008 grad students were given

primary group OFF instead of GRD VIS includes NYTS, Auburn and visiting

scholars Increasing activity to visitors
