    The Controlled Capacitance TransGuard is an application specific bi-directional transient voltage suppressor developed for use in mixed signal environments. The Controlled Cap MLV has three purposes: 1). Reduce emissions from a high speed ASIC, 2) prevent induced E fields from conducting into the IC, and 3) clamp transcient voltages.

    AVX Ceramic Transient Voltage Suppressors

    AVX has combined the best electrical characteristics of its TransGuard Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) and its Feedthru Capacitors into a single chip for state-of-the-art overvoltage circuit protection and EMI reduction over a broad range of frequencies. This unique combination of multilayer ceramic construction in a feedthru configuration gives the circuit designer a single 0805 chip that responds to transient events faster than any TVS device on the market today, and provides significant EMI attenuation when in the off-state.

    Where designers are concerned with both transient voltage protection and EMI attenuation,either due to the electrical performance of their circuits or due to required compliance tospecific EMC regulations, the TransFeed product is an ideal choice.

    CeraDiodes are ceramic semiconductors optimized specifically for high performance in ESD applications. They have a non-linear voltage/current characteristic for effectively suppressing extremely fast voltage transients and offer superior parametric stability over the complete operating range of -40C to +85C.

    CeraDiodes are bi-directional devices. A single CeraDiode connected from signal/data line to ground routes both positive and negative ESD transitions safely to the ground plane. This technique eliminates the need to route ESD charge into the power plane, possibly damaging nearby integrated circuits. CeraDiodes for high-speed lines exhibits a very low capacitance designed for maximum ESD protection combined with minimal signal distortion.

    The Bourns MOV product portfolio offers 7 mm and 10 mm radial leaded varistor devices which protect against overvoltage transients such as lightning,power contact, and power induction. The metal oxide varistors offer a choice of varistor voltages from 18 V to 820 V and Vrms voltages from 11 V to 510 V.The devices have high current handling, high energy absorption capability and fast response times to protect against transient faults up to rated limits.

    LITTELFUSE Metal Oxide Varistors

    Littelfuse varistors are voltage dependent, symmetrical, metal-oxide semiconductor devices. Their characteristics enable them to protect against high transient voltage spikes (when properly selected) to meet anticipated loads. When the protected equipment or circuit encounters high voltage spikes, the varistor impedance changes from a very high standby value to a very low conducting value, thus clamping the transient voltage to a protective level. The excess energy of the incoming high voltage pulse is absorbed by the Harris varistor, protecting voltage sensitive components against damage.
