This is a follow up to the previous report on the status of vacant CAGIS positions. Current disposition is

listed below. One position is vacant as of now.

GIS Migration Phase 2 – Status

GIS Core layer maintenance by consortium partners:

GIS core consortium layers are critical for the day to day mission critical functions of all agencies. Some

of these critical GIS layers include Addressing, Streets, Property Parcels, Zoning, etc. Each agency in the

consortium relies on another agency within the CAGIS shared system and is the enduring strength of this

CAGIS model. Timeliness and accuracy in maintaining these layers as close to real-time as possible is key

to their use for daily decision making by agencies and providing effective service to citizens. With this in

mind I am requesting the CAGIS board to reinforce the importance of timely and accurate data

maintenance as well as ensure that the relevant agencies plan, train and maintain continuity with their

GIS editing staff.

Accela Automation Migration Phase 1- Status

Activities since last policy board report:

1. Enterprise Architecture – vendor working on functionality to be incorporated in their

upcoming software release. Expected timeline for incorporation into CAGIS projects - 1Q

2017.

2. Development of “Proof of Production” for “Building Combo Permit” (a complex work

process): – 95% Complete.

3. Development of a “Proof of Production” for “Code Enforcement Workflow”: Utilizing

Cincinnati Property Maintenance program as a model - 95% Complete.

4. Development of a “Proof of Production” for “Annual Licensing and Inspection Workflow” to

CAGIS is planning to release the RFP for this project in mid-2017

10. CAGIS Staff (Four) attended the Accela Conference in August. We met with the Chief

Operating Officer and other senior executives to stress the importance of our project and to

continue close collaboration with senior executives to ensure they meet our consortium

needs.

I am continuing weekly internal workshops and review of functionality to evaluate in-depth the new

system and identify commonalities, points of improvements and gaps with the current system. This

effort is important and represents the required preparatory work needed before engaging the

vendor in detailed migration efforts. I continue to have meetings with the vendors on key next

steps.

GEN8 Migration Phase I

Develop a complete GIS solution for existing GEN7 users to

migrate to the current ArcGIS world. Phase 1 provides a

customized ArcMap desktop environment with point-and-click,

easy-to-use tools for GIS layer access, feature locating, feature

labeling, enhanced geocoding, cartographic mapping

production and metadata viewing functions. Beginning by

organizing GIS data into libraries of file geodatabases to easy

distribution and update, followed by enhancing the existing

CAGIS Online is a web GIS application developed as a Rich

Internet Application (RIA) environment utilizing ArcGIS Server

and related spatial technologies. The phase I of CAGIS Online is

complete and is available for both public and internal use.

This task is also being utilized to evaluate various technologies

effective delivery of GIS services to users and applications with

varied needs.
