Par t nersh ip Sem inar :
We had the 5th phase of continual leadership training for 3 days at Ranchi on 8 th
and 9th May 2012 for GEMS leaders. Prof. S D Jeyakumar and Prof. Jeyakar Chellaraj
were the resource persons. Leaders had good interaction with the resource persons in
the area of Budgeting, Planning, Evaluating, Record Keeping, Listening skills,
Communication skills and Team Building.
M anagem en t & Leadersh ip Sem ina r :
The first seminar at Shillong was held during 2007, after which the second
seminar was held from 17th - 19th May 2012. The journey experience for CIM leaders
and Resource Persons was far from pleasant but the seminar was a blessing tothe 43 North East leaders from different churches and missions. Subjects covered -
Indian Constitution, Forms of Organisation, Finance Management, Income Tax, FCRA
2010, Indian Resource Mobilisation, Rights to Information Act, Managing Children's
Home & Organisational Development. Resource Persons: Prof. S.D. Jeyakumar, Mr.
Varghese Jacob & Mr. Aby Alexander. Mr. Barkos Warjri IAS, Additional Chief
Secretary, Meghalaya came in as the chief-guest towards the end of the three day
program and his wife Mrs. Pauline Warjri distributed the certificates to the
leaders. Shillong Times and other TV channel covered the closing ceremony.

• The Cert i f icate Course in Christian Management in Basics of Christian
Management for the Meghalaya Mission Movement was held from 22nd - 25th May at
Tura, Meghalaya. Mr. Varghese Jacob and Mr. Aby Alexandar served as the resource
persons. The subjects covered include Introduction to Management, Handling
Finances, Dealing with People, Know your Legal Rights and Responsibilities, How to
set Goals, Property Management, Project Management, Resource Mobilisation,
Networking and Partnership, How to start and manage a Trust or Society.
• M.A., M CM, PGDCM an d DCM in Christian Management - The coaching classes of Sem IV students were held in Shillong from 15th - 18th May and in Chennai from
May 29th - June 1st. The subjects included Community Development & Local Self
Government, Legal Requirements for Christian Organisations, Communication,
Sociology, Marketing of Services and Financial Services. The resource persons were
Prof. Arul Mariyanathan, Prof. S.D.Jeyakumar, Mr. Varghese Jacob, Ms. Margaret, Mr.
Bennet Emmanuel, Mr. Aby Alexandar, Mr. Stephen Kumar, Mr. Iban Pyngrope, Mr.
Horeisung Khamramg, and Mr. Fabian Marbaniang.

The April-May edition has been dispatched which covers Member
Care issues as part of its cover feature. Dr. Kelly and Dr.
Michele O' Donnell who are pioneers in member care studies
have been interviewed. The secondary focus is an exclusive
interview with Dr. Skip Moen who is a scholar on Hebrew
language and theology. He speaks on the theology of work andcovers a lot of ground on work, worship and service.
Management Pub l i ca t ions :
Writing work has started for the proposed Indian Resource Mobilisation Handbook
along with a companion volume. The book covers around 10 chapters which is being
written by 10 experts and practitioners in resource development. The book is
scheduled to be released by October, 2012.
Due to further editing, the release of The Basic Management Handbook in Tamil and
Management Devotional - Volume 2 (July – Dec 2012) is being deferred to June.

I N HOUSE
• Mr. J. S. Anbu - Executive Director, CIM took part in the 61st Annual
Convention of EFI which was held from 9th to 11th May, 2012 at Chandigarh
and also had the privilege of sharing about the CIM ministry.
• He also participated in the National Staff Conference of Friends Missionary
Prayer Band from 21st - 24th May 2012 at Karunya, Coimbatore and served as
the Resource Person.
• Mr. Anbu also participated in the AGM of GEMS from 29 th - 31st May at
Coonoor and shared the word of God to the leaders during the spiritual meeting.
