Objective

This award is open for undergraduate students to highlight excellence in their Final Year projects

relating and contributing to the development of Best Practice and/or Innovation in the field of

Logistics or Transportation.

Participation Requirements

1. The entry format is either a final year project (individual or group based) or thesis/dissertation;

2. Final year undergraduates who are studying one of CILTHK accredited programmes and submit their

projects in 2017 are eligible to be nominated;

3. Nominations shall be made by Project Supervisor, or Head of Department, or Dean.

Judging Criteria

The judging criteria for the Project Award Competition are:-

� Abstract � Background and Literature Review � Research Methodology � Data Collection � Findings, Conclusion and Recommendation � Proper Citation and Referencing � Effective Report Presentation and Organisation

Assessment A Judging Panel formed by learned academics, leading professionals in the industry and CILTHK Council

Members will appraise the nominated theses/projects.

The Winner and the Award

The winner(s) of the CILTHK Logistics & Transport Student Final Year Project Award will be conferred a

prize of HK$5,000 in cash and one-year free CILTHK Affiliate membership(s) at the CILTHK Annual

General Meeting (AGM) in September 2017.

Rules

1. The nominated undergraduates must be the original and sole writers of their theses/project. This

requirement must be certified in writing by respective supervisors.

2. Nominations will be accepted for any undergraduate degree students who studied a local transport and/or

logistics programme accredited by CILTHK and have completed a final year thesis/project in 2017.

3. Each CILTHK accredited programme can submit a maximum of two nominations, one form for each

nomination.

4. The formal written thesis/project should be on a topic in logistics and/or transport studies whereas it

should be awarded within the Grade “A” range by the Academic institution.

5. An abstract of the thesis/project with about 200 words, together with four printed copies and one

electronic copy contained in CD of the full thesis/project should be submitted.

6. To maintain impartiality of the Judging Panel, only title of the thesis/project and the name of the

nominated undergraduate should be shown on the abstract and thethesis/project. The name of his/her

thesis/project supervisors and the university should not be shown on the abstract and the submission.

7. For each nomination, the copies of the full thesis/project, the abstract of the thesis/project and the

nomination form must be sent and reached to the CILTHK Office (7/F Yue Hing Building, 103 Hennessy

Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong) by 6:00 pm, 28th July 2017.

8. CILTHK reserves the right to decline any nominations without explanation.

9. The nominated undergraduates shall agree CILTHK to make inquiries to their universities/academies on

their theses/projects.

10. The judge of CILTHK on the Award is final.

11. Except the hard copy of the thesis, all materials submitted will not be returned and they will be destroyed

at the discretion of CILTHK. Please indicate your preference of returning hard copy of the thesis/project

in the nomination form.

12. The winner shall agree CILTHK to use the abstract of his/her thesis/project and all relevant materials and

information for publication to the public.

13. CILTHK expressly disclaims any loss and damage lodged by any nominator and nominee of the Project

Award Competition.
