Centralized online monitoring system to reduce the down-time & to enhance the customer experience

• All Electrical Substations and Electrical Rooms are running unmanned

• Number of substations are more and Distribution areas are vast

• Critical UPS systems are installed at various locations

• Any power trip in substation/UPS will be notified only when an information passed from the field

• More turnaround time, thus resolution time also

• Critical system power outage more than stipulated time may affect Airport operations

• Proper record or report can be fetched of all occurrence

A monitoring system of Breaker in Substations and other critical System

status at a designated control room might compact the response time.

ATCS has been installed on all 4 Carrier Make Chillers at T1A

Chiller Plant to prevent the increase in “condenser

approach” thereby ensuring the chillers will operate at

optimum efficiency.

Installation of ATCS will help us conserve energy and reduce

the downtime of the equipment.

This work amounting to INR. 22,42,000/-was carried out

under CAPEX

Waste Material Processing

The Pet bottle, plastic, polythene, newspaper & waste

papers are sending to ITC Ltd for recycling.

Tetra packs are sent to an SAHAS (NGO) an authorized

institution for collecting the tetra packs.

Glass bottles are separated for colored Glass & others,

it is send for Pulverizing Industries for recycling.

• After extracting the Biogas the expelled material is

converted to Compost

• BIAL is now setting up 25TPD in house Solid Waste Management

plant wherein solid waste will be processed and energy will be

produced, expected to be operationalized by March 2019.

Use of color coded bin concept ensures segregation at

source.

Rain Water Harvesting

Rain water is harvested through the roof of

terminal building

• 100 % utilization of treated water from STP for

Landscape, HVAC & Firefighting.

Construction of 315 Rain Water recharge

pits & Open type recharge pond to enhance

the ground water table.

Environmental Activities & Initiatives

Ambient Air Quality monitoring system

• We have installed continuous real time ambient air quality monitoring station to evaluate the pollutant level in the ambient air due to airport activities. This gives eight parameters i.e. NOx, So2, CO, THC Ozone analyzers, PM 10 & 2.5 & oxygen analyzer and also having watch dog weather monitoring station.

Noise Monitoring Station

• BIAL has two permanent Noise Monitoring Station on flight path as per guidelines to monitor the noise level of arrival & departure flight movements. Also BIAL uses mobile noise monitoring equip for measuring the noise level within the airport & surrounding communities.

Emission Measurement

• Installed for measuring and monitoring Airside vehicle and equipment emissions as a proactive measure.
