CIEE programs include: study abroad, teach abroad, high school study, and gap year programs; international faculty development seminars; summer work and travel exchanges; internships; professional training programs; and volunteer opportunities.

High School Summer AbroadThey will have a new service and leadership program in Beijing this summer that will focus on environmental issues as well as the language and culture program in Nanjing.

Program Leader Position descriptionFor the Language & Culture program, CIEE will hire U.S. based high school teachers fluent in the target language to lead our students abroad. CIEE is looking for individuals who are committed to the process of education, cross-cultural learning, and leadership development. The Program Leader is a certified teacher who is passionate about and energized by the desire to introduce students to the language and culture of the host country. The Program Leader will have excellent group management skills and experience guiding a group of students through various activities, hands-on experiences and cultural exchanges. The Program Leader is the face of the CIEE Summer High School Abroad program to all participants and their first point of contact during the in-country experience. The Program Leader is a mentor, a teacher, an advocate, a guide, a sounding board, an active participant, a disciplinarian, a counselor, and a cheerleader.
Eligibility & Position Requirements• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred
• A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a U.S. high school required. Experience must include time spent teaching the target language
• Possess and demonstrate strong leadership skills and a desire to work with, and lead, high school students
• Ability to liaise with the study center staff responsible for programming
Eligibility & Position Requirements• Outstanding intercultural communications skills
• Ability to set, and maintain, personal boundaries and follow through with disciplinary measures
• Strong understanding of risk management
• Certification in CPR and prior training in first aid procedures; Wilderness First Responder certification preferred
Compensation of Program Leaders
CIEE covers all the costs associated with the online and in-person training. CIEE covers all airfare, housing, and expenses for program leaders in addition to a $1,500 stipend and iNext International Travel and Health Insurance.
