Cider with Rosie A Design Binding Project and exhibition at the SOB Training Seminar 2016 Following our design binding project back in 2014 when the bindings were exhibited at the SOB Training Seminar at Cirencester we have settled on another book to tackle and hope that many members will join us. We hope to attract binders of all levels of competence to take part in this venture. As before, it is not a competition, there will be no winners, no prizes.....and no rules. The fun is taking part in a shared project and enjoy being able to show your work without being judged. There will have to be a small fee to cover the cost of the exhibition when you send in your book in June not sure yet what it will be....but it will be minimal. The book we have chosen is Laurie Lee’s Cider with Rosie which is set in what then was a remote Cotswold valley between the wars a few miles from Cirencester where the author grew up. It’s a popular book having been set reading in schools and was recently adapted for television and shown in September. The book was first published in 1959 and was an immediate success and was reprinted many times. It is easy to get a copy and I would recommend a Hogarth Press edition. Its printed on good paper and illustrated with line drawings by John Ward. The deadline will be early summer next year and the books will be exhibited at the 2016 National SOB Training Seminar which is to be held again at the Royal Agricultural College Cirencester at the end of June. (30 th June - 2 nd July 2016) Please let us know if you’d like to be involved so that we have an idea of numbers and can keep you informed of any news relating to the project. and exhibition at the SOB Training Seminar 2016 Following our design binding project back in 2014 when the bindings were exhibited at the SOB Training Seminar at Cirencester we have settled on another book to tackle and hope that many members will join us.

(30th June - 2nd July 2016)
