GFMC is committed to being a scriptural ‘House of Prayer.’ Scripture reveals that prayer includes communion with God, intercession, acceptance of outcasts, rescue of captives, restoration of the broken, world transformation and spiritual warfare.

Join us for the final week of "A Covering of Penned Prayers." − We will finish out this special focus by listening to the Lord for how to put a penned covering of prayer over those who have not yet entered the family of God. Meet in the Sanctuary from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. We will begin our time with worship and testimony to prepare us

to hear the Lord. Prayer for personal needs will also be available.

Training Session in August for Those Interested in Joining the Prayer Band.

Attendance required at training on Friday, August 27, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, August 28, 8:00 a.m. to noon, as well as Prayer Band meeting, Sunday, September 19, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Assigned reading is a pre-requisite. If you would like to join this group, please contact Margie Newton about details or call Lolly Shaw at the church office, 664-2584, by August 18.

Each Thursday Morning in July, 8:00-9:00 a.m., prayer is offered for our county churches. Join this special time to ask the Lord to bless, protect, guide and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. July meetings are at the First Presbyterian Church, 501 N. Idler, Greenville.

ANNOUNCEMENTS2011 Missions Trip to Santa Cruz, Bolivia − June 4-19, 2011: Two opportunities, one mission! Talk to Dr. John Dawdy about joining the medical option, or talk to Brent Shaw about the construction option. We are looking for about 20 persons to be divided between these two groups. A generalinformation meeting is planned for August 22, 2010, 4:00 p.m., in A108 for all interested persons.

A Covering of Penned Prayers: Join us this Wednesday night, July 28, as we join together as God's people to see how notes sent out of times of prayer create acovering of prayer. Learn how to pray listening for direction, how to write a note, and how to trust in the work of penned prayer. This week the focus is on prayer over those who have not yet entered the family of God. Meet in the Sanctuary from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Bond County Pregnancy Support Center and the Pregnancy Care Center ofHighland are sponsoring a movie night and after-glow featuring Sarah's Choice,starring Rebecca St. James. Join us TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m. at the FirstChristian Church, 1100 Killarney Drive. A free-will offering will be taken.

Communion Offering for Sunday, August 1, will go to the Jericho Benevolence Fund. These monies will go to assist individuals both inside and outside the church.A list of all regularly scheduled Bible Study Groups is available at the Welcome
