Church School Sunday
Today we are celebrating Church School Sunday during the 9:00 a.m. service. Each week our
children worship and learn about God while you are here in church. Today we want to share a
little of our worship with you and ask for special prayers over the projects we completed last
week. The Church School children and students spread God's love in our church and
community through Junior Mission Possible. They made 48 jars of soup mixes for community
dinner families, planted flowers and pulled weeds in some of the gardens on east side of the
church building, made four fleece blankets for the homeless, and made over 25 craft kits for
children in Albany Med. Thank you all for your support in these projects!

We Love Our Volunteers! You make a difference! Each week you greet the children with a smile and welcome their thoughts, ideas, and creativi-
ty. As you do this, you model God’s unconditional love and acceptance. Children’s understand-
ing of God comes largely from their experience at church, so God’s love becomes real as the
children experience your patience, compassion and understanding. We want to thank you for
what you do. Thank you for giving so generously of your time and gifts to reach out to the chil-
dren and their families. Please know that as you do this, you are also blessing our church. Well
done good and faithful servants!

Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self Control. Our next meeting is scheduled tomorrow, June 12.
We will meet at the church at 7 p.m. and carpool to Peebles Island where we will take a walk as we con-
sider Peace. All women are welcome. Please join us. If you have any questions, please contact Donna

Upcoming Sound Training Are you interested in learning more about the technology at our church? Do you have a desire to volun-
teer or run sound/media on Sunday mornings? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then our
sound training session is for you! The Shenendehowa UMC Sound Team would like to welcome you to
attend our upcoming Sound Training in June. The training will cover everything from how to turn on the
system for basic use to mixing a live band, and everything in between. We would like to encourage
everyone who uses sound reinforcement at Shen UMC to come to this informative, hands-on training in
the sanctuary. We will start the training at a beginner’s level and progress to intermediate and advanced
levels throughout the evening. The training will be one of the last Tuesdays in June, so mark your calen-
dars- more details to come! Feel free to contact Bill Kohler and/or Katie Kreidler with any questions.
Youth Group Traveling Bible Study
Join us on Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Drive-In for the first night of our
Youth Traveling Bible Study! All student grades 6-12 are welcome to join us. Back by popular
demand, we will have the Mystery Box. Each week a student will take the Mystery Box home
and put anything they want inside (nothing living please!!) When we gather together at the
pre-determined location, we will open the box together and discuss how the item in the box
can relate to our faith! Join us for a great time to explore your faith and have fun with friends.
More destinations to come. Contact Katie or Stephanie with any questions.
Vacation Bible School Imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by
God. All children ages 4 thru 5th grade are invited to come to Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School

site at www.shenumc.org and click on the VBS banner! Volunteers are what make these VBS weeks the
best ever for children in our church and community. We are in need of 40 – 50 volunteers (Students and
Adults) to join our volunteer team to help make this week special. Would you be one of them?? To
learn more or to sign up to volunteer contact Stephanie Hutchins at [email protected] or sign up
online at www.shenumc.org and click on the VBS banner!

night for the students and volunteers. If you would be able to help in the kitchen during this
week please sign up on the connection card!
Coffee Hour Help Needed Wouldn't it be lovely to have iced coffee and donuts under the trees behind the Church? Someone
suggested that to me a year or so ago. Well, we may not provide that setting, but plans are being made
for your Coffee Hour enjoyment. This summer, Rolf and Kathy Gaeding will be taking two mini vaca-
tions. One will be on the weekend of June 25, and another on the weekend of July 23. Please consider
providing snacks, making coffee and serving our friends and church family in the Fellowship Hall. You
may sign up in Fellowship Hall or on the Connect Card. As always, the joy of using the great hospitality
gifts abundant in our church family of friends will be a silent praise to God's glory. Thank you for your
anticipated acceptance of these rewarding tasks. Kathy Gaeding
