Statistics47,330 to 51,472 people are not currently attending Evangelical churches

The population of the 2 mile radius surrounding Northpark is projected to increase by 11,119

2 mile radius population: 15.4% are under the age of 912.9% are between 10 and 1722.4% are between 18 and 3422.6% are between 35 and 4913.9% are between 50 and 5912.8% are 60 and older

Four Core Teams

Prayer + Loving Our Neighbor

Hospitality + Connection

Recreation + Social Communications (Events + Publicity)

Prayer and Loving Our Neighbors (LON)

This team is going to be responsible to pray regularly for our neighborhood and focus on ideas and strategies to love our neighbors through praying, caring and sharing

Some examples:1. Prayer Team every week for Sunday services.2. Praying in and around the Neighborhood regularly.3. Identifying ways to reach out and demonstrate Christ’s love for

our neighbors: i.e. visiting homes, handing out water bottles, reaching out to grieving families, and more.

Hospitality + ConnectionThis team will create new ways to welcome visitors to Northpark

and will be responsible for creating a welcoming culture that connects them to small groups, bible studies and serving opportunities

Some examples:1. Welcome table with gifts and information.2. The Phantom Team.3. Coordinate with parking attendants, greeters, ushers, snack

people to identify new people.4. Follow up with visitors and newer people.

Recreation + SocialThis team will be involved in planning and executing special

events, sports opportunities and times for relationship building

Some examples:1. Planning our I Heart America bbq on July 3rd.2. Parties, potlucks, community building events to reach out to

our neighborhood.3. Softball, soccer teams, Youth sports leagues.4. Work with the PARCS department to serve the city and

neighborhood.

Communications + PublicityThis team will come up with creative ways to spread the word

about our church plant in the community and city using traditional media, new media, social networking, direct mail and any other means to share the message. This team will also be creative in nature, creating videos, crafting our core messaging and graphic design as needed

Some examples:1. Create a step by step marketing plan for the church plant.2. Create communication solutions for people both outside and within the Northpark community.3. Write press releases and pitch stories to the mainstream media.4. Create and maintain an online presence for Northpark Community Church.

QuestionsAre We leaving Northpark to start a brand new

church?

No! We are planting our existing congregation and reintroducing ourselves as a missional church to reach the 59, 163 people in a two mile radius around the church.

We are looking for a 9 month commitment, September 2011 through May 2012.

Yes! Absolutely and we will try to keep our meetings to a minimum, utilizing technology to be as efficient as possible.

Begin to pray about what team you’d like to serve on. Start by loving your neighbors next door and across the street.

What is launch Sunday, September 11th, going to look like?

We know that we are going to invite our community to consider A Day That Changed The World, the day Jesus went to the cross. We would also like to honor firefighters, military personnel and those who have sacrificed for our freedoms.

when it is not actually a new church?

We’ll keep you posted! Much of that depends on each of you, 100 new missionaries, ready to make a difference!
