Religious Instruction for Children/Youth grades K-10 at ICC

All Classes began on Sunday, September 10. You can download a registration form from our website or request one from the parish office. Our curriculum follows the liturgical calendar, which means the readings heard in Mass are part of the weekly lesson! Our classes meet on Sunday mornings from 9-10:00 am. This week’s class involves paining prayer rocks and all classes should meet at the pavilion out back. If you would like to join this ministry please contact one of the DRE’s or Mary Wentlent.

New Sunday Nursery

The new Nursery is ready and open for business! Families can take advantage of this service for part of Mass or the entire Mass, whatever suits their needs. We hope our young families will stop by and meet Jean and Patty, and show their toddler what a wonderful room they have. Jean Stevens is a loving and caring grandmother and looks forward to working in this nursery each week. Patty Wagner is a young adult that teaches behavioral students at BOCES. Patty is a new parishioner and is excited to be involved with her new parish. Several families have donated items for the nursery, and there are fun things to color and read as well. This is one of the many ways we are trying to show young families they are welcome at ICC! Please help us spread the word! “How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers.” St. Teresa of Kolkata Fall Adult Bible Study at I.C.C.

“At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us learn to pray. The Holy Spirit

inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. The Psalms

are our response to God loving us!”~Jeff Cavins

We are offering two study times each week, to learn the history of the Book of Psalms. Both will meet in the front classroom, just off the vestibule entrance to the church. The study last for 10 weeks.

-Sundays beginning Sept. 10 from 9-10 am. Meet-n-greet with refreshments from 8:45-9:00 am. -Thursdays has a new time! Beginning Sept. 14, this class will meet in the evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm. Meet-n-greet with refreshments from 6:15-6:30.

The cost for the study book is $10. All are welcome!

Dear friends, The fall meeting of the ICC Parish Council was last week and 10 members attended. There were some great discussions about the many areas of parish life we have at ICC. The immediate events are the Adult Bible Study offerings, the new Sunday nursery for our young families, the beginning of CCD classes and the fall parish picnic. There was also some discussion about future events for our altar servers to show our appreciation for their being part of this ministry. Next Sunday we will have a Ministry Fair after Mass. The Parish Council along with the Trustees will be available for a meet-n-greet! We have over 60 families that volunteer in some way at our church! We hope everyone will attend this special coffee hour and visit the table displays to see what the various ministry’s do. We hope new members will feel welcome to join a team. If anyone wants to switch ministries, that’s fine too. If you would like to help us set up for the Ministry Fair, meet Bonnie Norton and myself after the Saturday Mass in the church hall. Thank you! The budget for the new fiscal year has been submitted and our accountant has prepared the Annual Financial Report with the summary of last year. These papers are in the vestibule and all are welcome to take one and see how well we are doing. With more young people using their credit/debit cards for spending, it is hard for this age group to establish regular tithing to the church. We are investigating a way of offering an online giving program via our website. This option will be availa-ble soon and we will be sending home a letter with the details. We ask that our church members include ICC in your monthly budgeting of spending, so that we can continue to offer programs, pay for the day to day operation of a church as a business, support diocesan events and Catholic schools, and help those in need. The various fundraisers throughout the year help in a big way as well as the rental of our rectory. All of this is visible on the Annual Financial Report. Thank you for your financial support as well as your prayers. Have a blessed week. Peace! ~Mary Wentlent

Please remember to “wrap your gift to the Lord” each week in your offertory envelope. Thank you for supporting your parish financially We will be ordering next year’s envelopes next week. If you would like to receive your own boxed set, please contact the Parish Office before then..
