A Message From MadiHello Assumption and St.

Anthony parishes, Praise beJesus Christ!

My name is Madison Field, and many of you know me byMadi and possibly as thegranddaughter of Tom and MaryMathies, daughter of Chad andSarah Field. I grew up in EdenValley, am a graduate from Eden Valley-Watkins highschool, and just recently graduated with my bachelorsfrom Minnesota State University Moorhead.

As some of you may have heard, I have beenaccepted to enter into formation with a CarmeliteMonastery! In college I found a good community andbegan living out my faith with a greater intentionalityand developed a prayer life and personal relationshipwith our Lord, Jesus Christ. I began asking God thequestion: “Are you calling me to Religious Life?” a fewyears ago now and through visiting some differentcommunities have found my home with the DiscalcedCarmelites of the Holy Name of Jesus. For those whohave heard of St. Therese of Lisieux, I’d like to make aconnection for you. Therese was born in 1873 and wasa member of the same Carmelite branch as mine! Thismonastery is located near Green Bay in a town,Denmark, WI. Yes, Wisconsin. Rest assured all youfootball lovers, I will not become a Packers fan. Trustme, my dad and I already had this talk.

I will be coming to speak at both parishes nextweekend to share more about my story and how youcan help me and others like myself to enter into thereligious life without delay through an organizationnamed The Laboure Society. According to the NationalReligious Vocation Conference, of the approximately10,000 men and women discerning a call each year tothe priesthood or religious life, 42% of them are blockeddue to student loan debt. Laboure has helped over 300men and woman enter into religious life. I amfundraising with a class of 16 others from across thecountry and we are taking on the average of our studentloans as the goal. That is $60,000 each! Please pray forme and my classmates as we journey towards ourvocations. If you would like to learn more about thisprogram, and if you would like to watch my vocationvideo, just go to www.rescuevocations.org.

I hold these parish communities close to my heart,so be assured of my prayers for you all. Madi Field

Eucharistic Adoration CampaignWe would like to strengthen our regularEucharistic Adoration hours, add to our sub lists, and hopefully increase our adoration hours atboth St. Anthony and Assumption parishes.Padre Pio spent many hours daily talking to Godand listening to God talk to him through internalilluminations. He said it really didn’t matter if wetalked to God all the time because it is only whenwe are quiet that God talks to us. Now I ask you, where is it quiet enough for God to talk to you?You can come to the adoration chapel and in thepeacefulness there He will speak to your heart, and you will return eagerly because He has somuch to share with you.

Traveling Chalice and MadonnaGracious God and Father, we praise You for Yourgoodness and love. You teach us that each vocationis born in prayer and only through prayer does itpersevere and bear fruit. We ask you to stir the heartsof all those You call to the Priesthood, Diaconate,Consecrated Life, and Married Life in the diocese of St.Cloud and New Ulm. Make them generous. Make themcourageous. Make them joyful in giving everything toJesus. Send your Holy Spirit upon St. Anthony andAssumption parishes as we pray for holy priests to leadand guide us in our faith lives. Please bless FatherAaron as he guides us to holiness and faithfulness. Maythe Holy Spirit choose from our parishes, our homesand our schools those called to this adventure of love;in union with Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament,Mother of every vocation, we ask this through Christour Lord.
