Holy Land Collection On Good Friday, a special collection is taken

up in all parishes throughout the Catholic world to help support the Church in the

Holy Land. These contributions sustain Catholic primary

& secondary schools in the Holy Land, the Catholic University in Bethlehem, and a

whole network of clinics and healthcare fa-cilities in the Holy Land. Even special pro-jects for social development are assisted by

the collection.

USHERS NEEDED One of the ministries at St. Augustine Church is that of an Usher. This include assist-ing parishioners with finding a seat, asking members of the congregation to offer the

gifts, passing around the collection baskets and distribute weekly bulleting after mass. Assisting the Eucharistic ministers by pointing out those who cannot proceed through the communion line and therefore need communion brought to them.

St. Augustine Church is experiencing shortage of Ushers. Your service to the church is urgently needed. If you are interested in joining this ministry or questions about this

ministry, please call, Deacon Sam Mobarek at 845-638-6155 or 845-405-6141. Thank you and God bless you.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (including teens) Are you reading this bulletin announcement because you are interested in the Catholic Faith or are you looking to complete your Sacraments of Eucharist (Communion) and

Confirmation? If so, you are reading the correct announcement. At St. Augustine’s, we have an ongoing program of faith formation. I want to emphasize that RCIA is not a tradi-tional CCD (old name) Religious Ed. Program. Candidates generally need either all three Sacraments of Initiation or having been baptized have not continued toward first Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. Please contact Deacon Jim Suchy at 634-3641, the

Parish Office number, or email him at [email protected] and include the letters RCIA in the subject space.

The Social Action Ministry is looking for volunteers who would be willing to help us carry out some of our existing initiatives, as well as some new ones we are getting

ready to roll out. Can you spend 20 minutes after mass at the sign-up table for our blood drive in April, make a few phone calls from home or perhaps deliver some col-lected items to a charity? Any time you have to help would be greatly appreciated as many hands make light work. We welcome all volunteers, including high school or college students looking to earn some community service hours, or spruce up a re-sume or college application. Please contact Ann Marie via text or phone (914-548-7910) or send an e-mail to [email protected]. Thanks very much

for prayerfully considering helping those who need a hand up.

Thank You! We are most grateful to our parishioners who so

generously supported our St. Patrick’s Cake sale. A check in the amount of $1,001 has been given to

Father Bill for parish needs.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION On Wednesday, March 14th Michael Borges presented “ What SHAPE are you in.” He challenged us to re-evaluate our Spiritual lives to see if we are following our paths to holiness in the ways that are specific to our own lives. God created us uniquely different from each other from our finger prints to our heart beats. He has chosen each one of us for specific tasks on our jour-neys through life. I want to thank Michael for sharing his talents with us. Ellen Rice!

There will be no classes on Easter Sunday. We wish all our families a Blessed and

Happy Easter! We look forward to seeing you on April 8th!

Holy Thursday is the Christian holyday falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.

Good Friday is a Christian holyday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. It is ob-served during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with
