Peter’s Pence Collection This Week The collection this week provides Pope Francis with the funds to carry out charitable works around the world. The proceeds benefit our brothers and sisters, including victims of war, oppression, and disasters. For more information, please visit www.usccb.org/peters-pence. Food for the Poor Visiting Next Week Father Bob Karris from the organization Food for the Poor will be celebrating Masses at St. Anne’s the weekend of July 4/5th. Please give him a warm welcome. Food for the Poor provides direct relief throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Father Karris was ordained for the Franciscan Order in 1965, has taught at various universities, published more than fifteen books, and still writes and edits from his home at St. Peter’s in Chicago. No Daily Mass July 7-10 There will be no daily Mass due to Father’s annual vacation from Tuesday, July 7th through Friday, July 10th. Mass Protocols
No new changes this week! The Archbishop’s dispensation from the obligation to attend Holy Mass will continue throughout the pandemic and our Mass streaming will allow those who cannot or should not attend in person to attend Mass virtually and make a spiritual communion. Our website lists the ways we are following both government and Archdiocesan protocols, which have changed from last week and include:
• 50% capacity attendance
• 6 ft. distancing for those not living in the same household
• Wearing of masks recommended but not required
• Sanitizing hands upon entry or before sacraments like Confession
• No gathering in groups indoors before or after Mass
St. Anne Parish News • Shift in sequence for reception of Communion (takes place in seating after Mass has concluded for attendees; in Lower Vestibule for those who have watched livestream and come to receive after each Mass
Family Formation Plans Please be aware that we are working hard to prepare Family Formation opportunities for the fall that will be in line with the ever-changing Covid guidelines. The Wisdom Booklet, with all our opportunities for the upcoming school year cycle, should be made available later in the summer to allow us to respond with the most up-to-date offerings that will be possible toward the fall! Thank you for your patience! Confession Appointments
Please contact the Parish Office (M-F 9am-4pm) for appointments to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation at a private time with Father Belden observing protocols for health. Holy Mass Video Streaming Continues Mass from St. Anne’s will be broadcast on our Saint Anne Hamel FaceBook page on FaceBook live. Just visit facebook.com/SaintAnneHamel at our Mass times. Masses are not left up for later watching. Thank you! Pray for COVID-19 Anointing Corps, Patients, Families and Medical Support Teams Parishioners across the Archdiocese are invited to prayerfully support those who are suffering most intensely, usually in sterile isolation, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Text archspm-anointing to 55321 or visit eva.us/archspm-anointing to receive a text each time a COVID-19 Anointing Corps Priest is dispatched to give the Last Rites. Upon receipt of the text, those in this ministry commit to take a moment to pray
One Our Father for the patient who is in danger of death; One Hail Mary for the patient’s family and friends; One Glory Be in thanksgiving for the priest and for his protection, as well as the medical team attending to the patient.
Prayers and Support for Health Care Workers Health care workers: Catholic faithful throughout the archdiocese are dedicated to praying for you! Visit archspm.org/covid19prayers to submit a prayer request and obtain other resources for those in your field. Want to join in praying for health care workers? Commit to daily prayer for health care workers by texting archspm-healthcare to 55321 or signing up at eva.us/archspm-healthcare. You will receive a weekly message with a link to health care workers to pray for each week. Historic Hamel Library Open The little historic Hamel Library will be open each Thursday during the summer starting this week. The hours are 1:00pm-4:00pm. They may try to have ice cream socials in the future to bring awareness to the historic library and make it a community event. St. Anne’s is a part of Hamel history and you can learn our area’s history and stories when you visit this treasure!

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC (St. Thomas) It has been decided to delay the start up of the First Saturday Devotions until the churches in our area are allowed to have 100% attendance with no social distancing. There will be no further announcements until this happens, so read the bulletins or the check the website frequently to stay up to date with the announcement that will let you know when these devotions will start up again. In the meantime, pray that this can happen soon. Thank you for your patience & understanding. God bless you All.
Prayer Against Coronavirus Lord Jesus Christ, our Divine Physician, we ask you to guard and protect us from the corona-virus and all serious illness. For all that have died from it, have mercy; for those that are ill now, bring healing. For those searching for a remedy, enlighten them; for medical caregivers helping the sick, strengthen and shield them. For those who are working to contain the spread, grant them success; for those afraid, grant peace. May your Precious Blood be our defense and salvation. By your grace, may you turn the evil of disease into moments of consolation and hope. May we always fear the contagion of sin more than any illness. We abandon ourselves to your infinite mercy. Amen. -Pedro de la Cruz
