Dear Fr. Gene Brothers Knights, Ladies Guild, Youth Group and Adult Choir
Dear Friends and Parishioners,
I would like to thank you for a beautiful farewell celebration that we had here last weekend at Our Lady of the Assumption. It was a great and memorable celebration. All your kind words that I am still reading, best wishes and generous gifts were truly appreciated. It has been a great journey with all of you who made me the type of priest I am today. Though I am leaving our parish, Our Lady of the Assumption, I pray that a piece of me stays here with you. You will always be a part of who I am. For sure, I am taking a part of you with me as well. I will always remember you. Thank you for sharing yourself with me. What a wonderful journey!!! Blessings!!!

JULY 2, 2017
“Come to the Table” is a program we have set up which provides non-perishable food items to fami-lies “at any time” during the year; based on request. Should you know
of a family in need, please call Denise at the church office (#387-7119). All family names will be kept strictly confi-dential.
The food pantry, which supplies food for the Come to the Table program, is “ALWAYS” in need of new inventory; year round. Financial contributions and donations of non-
perishable food items are always needed to keep this pro-gram up and running. Please leave your donations in the rear of either church.
The Archdiocese of Hartford welcomes in-quiries from men seeking to serve the Church as priests or deacons and from men and wom-
en who are discerning a vocation to the consecrated life as a religious brother or sister. Call Vocations, Archdioce-san Center at St. Thomas Seminary, Tel. 860-761-7456, e-mail [email protected] or visit the web at www.vocationshartford.org.
Reminder! Upon enter ing church for Mass or any other service, please turn off or place on vibrate your cell phone. Thank you.
Please be aware that there are now stricter legal and ethical guidelines regarding the dissemination of patient information from hospitals to churches and clergy. In ad-dition, today’s shorter hospital stays make timely pastoral visit difficult at best. Therefore, if you have occasion to be hospitalized and desire pastoral support, you or a fami-ly member should do two things. Notify the rectory of the hospitalization as soon as possible. Also, upon admission to the hospital you will be asked if you desire to have your religious affiliation noted as part of your medical record. Please state both your denomination and parish. If you fail to do either of the above, your parish priest may have no way of knowing your needs.
