    VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

The Lord has blessed CrossPoint with another successful

Vacation Bible School! It brought me great joy to see His mighty hand

move in each child's life throughout the week, which was made

possible through the awe-inspiring talents and efforts of the

volunteers. If you had the opportunity to attend any daytime or

parent’s night activities, you undoubtedly witnessed how talented of

a staff we had this year! With over two hundred children enrolled, I

knew it would be difficult on the workers with such a large group. I

prayed earnestly that the right people would be in the right place for

God's will to be done. There is not enough thanks or praise I can give

for the helpers and volunteers. Vacation Bible School was successful

    because of you!

Moses began our week's journey by leading the Israelites out of

Egypt and away from the army of Pharaoh by crossing the Red Sea,

where some of our tribe members even got wet! The lesson, “Where

God Guides, God Provides”, is one that is true for adults as well as

children. Crafts, snacks and music were coordinated with the Bible

story in order to reinforce the lesson as much as possible each day.

On Tuesday we focused on the needs of the people where God

provided food in the wilderness. The kids pretended to eat manna

and quail in the form of Frosted Flakes and Peeps. By Wednesday

they battled with the Amalekites, where God once again provided

strength. Moses reminisced the Passover and taught the children

about the “perfect lamb” that would save them. It truly brought tears

to my eyes when I watched them paint blood on the doorpost and

put all their trust in the Lord and His salvation. This really made the

story come to life! What’s more, over two hundred children heard the

message of the gospel on Thursday. I loved receiving texts and

emails from parents about how their children were asking deep,

serious questions about what they had heard. Please continue to

pray that the Holy Spirit moves in their lives. Friday wrapped up our

week with the Ten Commandments and how we are instructed to

    follow and obey God always.

Last, but definitely not least, was our mission focus. Our fabulous

group of kids and parents raised over $1000 for the World Hunger

Fund! Mrs. Diane taught the children about her travels and mission

trips, showed them pictures and gave them scripture references

about how we are to minister to those in need. It was such a treat to

hear the children talking about how their dollar could feed one

hungry child three whole meals that day! The mission offering far

surpassed my original goal to feed one child three meals a day for

an entire year. God is good!

What a blessing it was to coordinate this fantastic outreach! It

was a lot of hard work, but also one of the most rewarding weeks of

my life. I look forward to helping coordinate this event again next

year. Better start ordering new materials soon!...
