The story is based on the short story “The Cop and the Anthem,” by O. Henry. It is a story within a story. The scene opens on a homeless man who is narrating story about Soapy Smith a former Wall Street broker but now homeless. Since Soapy Smith doesn’t have a home he is forced is spend the winter nights on the streets. To ease his suffering he is committing a series of petty crimes so that he could get arrested, but fails every time. Finally he stumbles upon a church service and have a change of heart and mends his way.

The Mission

The story is about the mission of Guardian Angels who are on their mission to search baby Jesus Christ who is missing from his heavenly home. The angels are looking for Christ on Earth according to his previous visit on the planet. Christ was finally found at a Church. Though, the mission for the angels continues even after this search.These Christmas plays for small churches are suitable for people of all age groups
