DennisChuppwasfirstintroducedtothepianoattheyoungageof11,whenhebegantakinglessons.Bythetimeheturned17hemetanexperiencedlocalpianotuner who sparked his interest in restoring and servicing pianos for a living. After that,Dennisspent10yearsapprenticingunderanareaconcerttuner/technicianand went on to receive personal training at the Steinway & Sons factory in New York,andunderFredDrasche—oneof the topservicerepresentatives. In1975,Dennis opened Chupp’s Piano Service in Goshen, Indiana. He was Head Piano TechnicianattheUniversityofNotreDameinSouthBend,Indianaforfiveyearsand is currently Head Technician at Goshen College.

By 2000, Dennis outgrew his shop in Goshen and moved his family to a large piece of property a few miles away in New Paris, Indiana. They built a 4,000 square foot, state-of-the-art climate controlled piano rebuilding facility next to their home. A true family- ownedandoperatedbusiness,Dennis’wifeandfive childrenworkalongsidehimfromstarttofinishintherestoration and repair process.
