The Chudom Hayes Team focuses our energy and investment manage-ment efforts on asset allocation. We believe that your asset alloca-tion—not which stocks or mutual funds you own—will be the source of the largest percentage of your returns. We are more likely to add value by concentrating on asset al-location and minimizing expenses and taxes than by attempting to outperform indexes through active management of individual stocks or bonds. Instead, we construct discre-tionary portfolios using exchange-traded funds because we believe they allow us to build a better-al-located and more diverse portfolio more efficiently.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are low-cost, tax-efficient investments that track the performance of specific market indexes. Because many ETFs mirror the performance of market indexes, we believe they are excel-lent tools for implementing asset allocations, which are calculated by combining market indexes in different proportions. And ETFs also allow us to rapidly adjust your asset allocation when we believe that risks and opportunities require it.

Kyle Chudom is the founding mem-ber of the Chudom Hayes Wealth Management Group, and focuses on client relationship management and investment policy decisions. He re-cently celebrated his 26th anniversary with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Since 1984, Kyle and the Chudom Hayes Wealth Management Group have been nationally recognized for excellence by multiple publi-cations. Both Kyle and the Group are members of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Chairman’s Club, which recognizes the top two percent of financial advisors at the firm.

Under Kyle’s leadership, the Chudom Hayes Team pioneered the retirement planning software that has become the standard across Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Having benefited from mentoring early in his career, Kyle has initi-ated a program for mentoring young professionals at the Chudom Hayes Team, and the team regularly mentors interns. Several of the high school and college students mentored by

Eric is a Vice President, Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager with the Chudom Hayes Wealth Man-agement Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Eric is a member of the firm's Century Club and is Series 6, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, and 66 registered.

The Chudom Hayes Team has received national recognition. Research Magazine included Eric and the Chudom Hayes Wealth Management Group in their 2009 ETF Advisor Hall of Fame.

Eric graduated from Southern Illinois University. He developed his interest in the financial markets during his teenage years, mostly by watching the stocks of telephone companies for which his father worked. Eric remembers reading the phone company annual reports his dad would bring home from the office.

In his spare time Eric enjoys pilot-ing airplanes, family time and read-ing. Eric started flying lessons at the age of sixteen, receiving his pilots’ license shortly after graduating from high school and leaving for college.

Eric and his wife, Jennifer, have a daughter named Emma.

Kyle graduated from Alma Col-lege in Michigan and has completed advanced studies at the Wharton School at the University of Penn-sylvania. Kyle and his wife, Kena, reside in Hinsdale, Illinois, with their two daughters, Kacey and Khloe, along with the family dog, Karma.
