Hints for a successful drive

Organizing Your Drive

Organizing a toy drive can be fun and easy! Your efforts will truly make a

difference in the lives of children in our community that without the generosity

of people like you would not have a Christmas.

There are five easy steps to make your drive a success.

1. Pick a date. Give yourself enough time to get the word out and we suggest

that you run your drive for at least a week so that people have time to

purchase their gifts and toys.

2. Advertise! Use the posters provided and put them up everywhere; each

department, each classroom, etc. Send emails to everyone you know, both

at work or school and your friends and family. Encourage everyone to do

the same. You will be surprised how your toy drive will grow with everyone

sharing in their network.

3. Make sure that everyone knows when and where to drop off their new

toys. Be sure to put in a location that is not only convenient, but helps to

remind people to bring in their gifts if they haven’t already.

4. Once all the toys are collected and your drive is over, schedule a pick-up

from the Mission or drop off the gifts prior to Friday, December 5th. If

possible, bring your coworkers, classmates or church family for a tour of the

Mission. They will see where all their efforts have gone.

5. Sit back and enjoy the good feeling of helping children in our community

the toys collected will go to the Mooresville/Lake Norman Christian Mission to distribute to families in

need.

You can also help me by emailing your friends and families to see if they would like to participate. The

Christian Mission serves between 1400 and 1700 children in need every year. Every toy will help make this

Christmas special for children our community.
