From 1st November 2016 until 28th February 2017, The Merrion is pleased to offer overnight accommodation from a special rate of €330 for twopeople sharing a Standard room. This rate is inclusive of full Irish breakfast the following morning. Situated just a short stroll from Grafton Street, The Merrion is ideally located for a spot of Christmas shopping.

The Winter Season, and particularly Christmas, is a unique time for families and a short break is not just a treat, it is practically a necessity!

The Merrion Hotel, with its superb facilities and friendly staff is a wonderful place to bring

Festive Christmas Lunch and Dinner menus will be available from December 1st in the award winning Cellar Restaurant. Ideally located in the centre of Dublin, the restaurant is a wonderfully atmospheric, elegant and charming venue for a company Christmas gathering or family get together.For the month of December there will be a piano accompaniment for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings, while 1940’s harmony trio, the Bugle Babes, will perform live during Sunday lunch, with a special visit from Father Christmas.

Recover after Christmas shopping; give the family a pre-Christmas treat or simply get in the mood for the holidays. Whatever the reason, Afternoon Tea in the beautiful Georgian Drawing Rooms, surrounded by the hotel’s priceless collection of art and antiques, will be an occasion to remember and savour. These elegant rooms were designed in the 1760’s for their owners to entertain and relax in, and this is exactly what guests of The Merrion enjoy doing today.

Delicate finger sandwiches, gingerbread, Viennese bridge rolls, meringues, mince pies, gateaux - just some of the home-made delights on offer from 1st to 31st December, as The Merrion invites you to enjoy a scrumptious celebration Afternoon Tea. On December 4th, 11th and 18th Afternoon Tea will be accompanied by festive Christmas Carols.

Sunday Brunch will be served from 11.30am to 4.00pm throughout the month of December with a special visit from Father Christmas.

Sunday 25th December

The Merrion residents and guests are invited to enjoy a delicious Christmas Lunch or Dinner in The Cellar Restaurant. Chef Ed Cooney’s 5-course menu will delight guests who enjoy a traditional Christmas meal. For added atmosphere, decorations, traditional party favourites and crackers come as a particularly festive garnish!

Arrive on Christmas Eve and check into your luxurious room, complete with tempting seasonal delights. Anticipate Christmas by the crackling log fires in our lavishly dressed Drawing Rooms, unwind in the sumptuous Tethra Spa or relax in the warm ambiance of our cocktail bar, No 23, before enjoying festive Christmas carols that evening. At 6.00pm on Christmas Eve, all our younger guests are invited to meet with Father Christmas around the magical Christmas tree in The Front Hall, where each child will receive a Christmas gift, and Mums and Dads can enjoy a glass of mulled wine and mince pies.
