The Most Magical Year of my Life……So Far

I am still recovering from the wonder and surprise 2009 has brought to me. You could

say I have a bliss hangover. It never gets old and it doesn’t go away. It just IS.

Everything only feels amplified as the energy and magic of Christmas fills the

atmosphere everywhere. It’s tangible in the air, no different from the mist that lingers

inches over the ice covered grass here in England on most mornings this time of year.

Unbelievably beautiful. This year, I really listened to myself on so many levels, I trusted

and went deeper than I ever thought possible. It wasn’t always pleasant as I let go of so

much more, literally clearing out anything “stagnant” within myself and ended up with

a very clean slate to create, yet again, a new and shiny life with a fresh new perspective

of this moment. This was the year I really had the experience of truly just Being. I stood

still, very very still and watched magic happen all around me! Raw foods and super

foods, I have to mention, played a key role and were a major tool in the clearing process

as I learned so much about nutrition this past year it makes my head spin! I am sure I

nearly drove my family crazy as I walked around in my “Yummy Mummy” apron

while serving them kelp noodles and Crystal Manna, but I am sure they would agree,

ALL of our lives have completely been transformed because of it. We all had to adjust to

drastic changes. As I find myself at the end of yet another transformative year and as I

write this article now, we have been in our new home for just over a month now. My

daughter said to me the other morning, “Mom, sometimes I wake up and still wonder

how I got here.” I so know what she means! Me too!

The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird

waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the

seedlings of realities.

We dreamt our way into this new life. It’s as simple as that. Everything that my heart

desired came true this year. If I think of something, it doesn’t take long before I see it in

my reality. On the surface it may have seemed like I did less this year and in truth I did.

I did less. I was BEing more. All the work was within. I allowed the universe to deliver

to me exactly what I wanted by being very clear and concise with my desires and

intentions. EVERY aspect of this life that I am living had to change.

The relationship I had with food was transformed and I was deeply affected and shaken

up by how fast everything in life was shifting. My marriage, as a result, was shaken up

as well and for a moment there, I didn’t know what would come to pass. It was a very

vulnerable experience, heart wrenching, intense, uncertain all at the same time, yet so

beautiful. It was during this particular experience of being stripped of many deeply

engrained illusions that I mustered up strength I didn’t realize I had and in the end my

“relationship” with Paul was transformed and recreated just like every other aspect of

my life! I am so glad it turned out this way, as this was my heart’s desire, but there was

a moment when I actually let him go completely in my mind, a totally surrendered state

of being, and THAT was when I found him at the doorstep of my heart, whispering to

my soul and holding out his hand so we could continue on this path together. Now, the

foundation is what it needs to be….. to just BE in the same space and co-create this new

world together, effortlessly; this world based on PURE LOVE. It has been powerful,

humbling and rejuvenating for my soul. Aligning with ones dreams always is. I must

have felt every emotion that a human being could feel in 2009 and as I felt my way

through the layers of each one of those precious moments, I was overwhelmed with

gratitude to just BE me while accepting that this too is always changing…. Ahhhh Life~

something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the

tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the

world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me,

and I am Okay.”

a blessing: the days will be longer and brighter now, even before the winter settles in to chill us.

Now is the moment of magic, when people beaten down and broken, with nothing left but misery

and candles and their own clear voices, kindle tiny lights and whisper secret music, and here's a

blessing: the dark universe is suddenly illuminated by the lights of the menorah, suddenly ablaze

with the lights of the kinara, and the whole world is glad and loud with winter singing. Now is

the moment of magic, when an eastern star beckons the ignorant toward an unknown goal, and

here's a blessing: they find nothing in the end but an ordinary baby, born at midnight, born in

poverty, and the baby's cry, like bells ringing, makes people wonder as they wander through their

lives, what human love might really look like, sound like, feel like. Now is the moment of magic,

and here's a blessing: we already possess all the gifts we need; we've already received our

How did Christmas come to how it is today? Well, NOW, Christmas is a holiday where

everybody is wasting their time spending money on the next cool toy. But, it isn't necessarily

what Christmas is about. I think that Christmas is about spending time with your family and

friends and showing gratitude for what you have! For me, I have a huge house, the perfect

room, a dog and two guinea pigs! I am VERY grateful, as you can tell. Even just the breath I'm

taking now is a gift!

Most people have heard the story when the three wise men came to bring gifts for baby Jesus.

Apparently, this is how giving out gifts today began. First, it started out as giving heart-

warming, homemade gifts. They're a great present, especially for relatives. Nowadays, people

are going out of control for Christmas presents that are not even worth it. That means that the

awesome new train set you bought is probably going to be in a dusty old bin five years from

now! There's always something new coming around the corner. So don't waste your time only

thinking it's about presents!! This year will be a great Christmas for me. I'm thinking about

waking up, having a great breakfast and spending the next eight hours with my family, the

ones who I love and love me!!
