December is the season of Christmas preparation. We make Polish bigos, uszka,

barszcz and many others. Preparation starts on the beginning of the month when we start to pickle beetroots and cabbage

for Christmas supper.

In Poland Santa comes on 6th of

December. That’s the „name day” of

Nicolas (we celebrate name

days and birthdays).

On this day children dress up as Santa

or Elfs and we organize gift

exchange at school.

greetings for our Italian friends. We had lots of fun with

directing.

The greatest gift this year is the weather. It started snowing

on the 6th of December. Santa

brought much more than just presents.

In Poland Christmas start 25 December. They last 2 days. We have 10 days Christmas

holidays. In my house 24 December decorate a Christmas tree. Before dinner we divide the

wafer and submit a wish. We eat dinner tonight which consists of 12 dishes. After dinner we open gifts and sing carols. I like

Christmas because I spend it with family. It is a time of peace and reflection. At midnight I'm going with my parents to church. The

second day we visit family.

I spend my holidays with my family. Six days before Christmas dress christmas tree.My

grandmother cooked tortellini for the soup, and my mom with me bake cakes and make different dishes. Always I put hay under the table. When

the star in the sky lights go into a room and sing Christmas carols with her brother. After dinner, we are looking for gifts under the tree. The first day of Christmas I'm going to grandma's house.

On Christmas Eve at midnight, I go to church with his family at midnight. Christmas Day on the road

walking around town and watch the scenery.

Christmas recipee for bigos:

1.Chop sour cabbage, then water it and boil for 1 hour unless it is soft.

2. In the meantime cut sausage and pork. Fry it on the frying pen.

Make sure your mushrooms are well done before adding them to the dish especially if you picked them up in the forest by yourself. Otherwise you may get food poisoning.

Add some tomatoes, plums and wine to the cabbage. Put all ingredience to one pot and boil it a little. Then put the pot with the dish on the balcony or freezer. It is will be perfect in 3 weeks.

On Christmas Eve Polish people don’t

eat meat. Thus, bigos will be perfect

for the day after christmas supper.
