The Trumpet Call By Pastor Kikelomo Togun

“The Trumpet Call” is a book written by Deaconess Adeoti Onaola who lives in the United Kingdom and the article is taken from the book, except the last paragraph which is added by me.

To blow the trumpet can mean different things—to speak boastfully, to broadcast, to proclaim or to declare or to convey a message by a trumpet call. In times past, trumpets

were blown for certain reasons: To convey the king’s message to the community, to proclaim a warning of an impending danger or to pass an urgent message without delay, so this trumpet call is a message from the Almighty God. Delay is dangerous because we are in the last days.

The Bible tells us to avoid delay and hearken to the voice of the Lord. In the Old Testament, instructions were given by God through His representatives. A call also means to cry aloud, to make a noise, to create attention or to give specific instruction so the trumpet call is a call from the Almighty God asking us to be prepared for the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This trumpet call lets us know that we are getting closer - wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places, false prophets, famine/economic problems - these are the signs of the end time and for this reason, we have been instructed to blow the trumpet at every opportunity we have, declaring the message of the Lord.

There are different types of call:(a). A call to awareness(b). A call to repentance - to turn away from sins before

it is too late.(c). A call to service - it is an act of serving God. This is

what you do for God for the expansion of His kingdom. Remember you will be rewarded if you serve Him diligently. On that Day He will welcome you home and say, “Welcome my faithful servant”. How I would love to hear those words at the end of my life. Then all the suffering will be worth it. It is like a victorious army coming home to various rewards!! It will be worth all the fighting!! The fight of faith!!

2 Chronicles 7:14 declares, “If My people which are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

Are you a Sheep, a Goat or a Geep?By Dr. Philip Ademola Togun

“All the nations will be gathered before Him (Jesus), and He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the

sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left” (Matthew 5: 32-33).

New Zealand, through the marvel of modern science, has cross-bred the sheep and the goat to produce an animal called the geep – half goat and half sheep. Thus the new animal is neither goat nor sheep.

According to the passage above, when Jesus returns, He will separate the sheep (His faithful followers) from the goats (those who have rejected Him). He will say to the sheep, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world” (Matthew 25:34).And He will say to the goats, “Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).

What about the geeps? These are the people with one foot in the kingdom of God and the other foot in the world. These are the ones who will not stand up for their belief in Christ. They do not want to be labeled as “fanatics” or “intolerant”. Spineless professing Christians who want people to like them and so would not like to offend anybody with the gospel of Christ. The Bible describes them as lukewarm and Jesus has harsh words for such people, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot or cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth” (Revelation 3: 15-16).

Jesus said that no one could serve two masters. That person would end up displeasing one of them. If you are a geep, know that you cannot serve Christ and the world at the same time. You must decide and be part of either the sheep or the goats. There is no room for geeps in the kingdom of God. Let those who have ears hear what the Lord is saying.
