of the world who saves people from the punishment of sins and death. For Christians, the savior is Jesus Christ.

Sin

Sin the disobedience of humanity from God.

Christians believe every person in the world is a sinner and can do nothing to change this.

Jesus saves Christians from their own sin

Jesus

JesusA teacher and prophet whose life and

teachings form the basis of Christianity. Christians believe Jesus to be Son of God and the Christ.

For Christians, Jesus is also God, along with the Holy Spirit and God: Trinity…all a part of the one God for Christians

Jesus is the only way to get to heaven is through Jesus.

Disciples

Disciples followers of a teacher and spread the ideas

of that teacher.

Resurrection

Resurrectionrising from the dead. One of the core beliefs

of Christianity is that Jesus was resurrected from the dead before ascending to heaven.

Apostles

Apostles Leaders of the early Christian Church. Most

were disciples of Jesus and they wrote the New Testament.

New Testament

New TestamentChristian holy book that includes the life of

Jesus, the early church, and teachings of the church.

Martyrs

MartyrsA person that dies for a cause; many

Christians die this kind of death even today

Eucharist

Eucharist a Christian ritual taught by Jesus that

involves eating bread and drinking wine in honor of Jesus

Baptism

BaptismA Christian ritual that involves being

immersed in water and lifted out as a declaration of being a Christian.
