Biblically speaking the word heart has a much broader meaning than it does to the modern day. Nearly all the references to the heart in the bible refer to some aspect of Human personality. Matthew 15:8 People honor Jesus with their lips, but their hearts are far from meAs Christians we must be aware that we get into ruts! We often make church our god rather than Jesus himself. Our relationship with Christ is more important than our church attendance. Church is an important part of Gods plan, but it doesn’t trump having an intimate relationship with Jesus. Jesus must be the epicenter of our thoughts and concerns. This is so important especially when we mess up! When we as Christians sin, we start what is called a shame spiral. “You do something wrong. You feel bad about it, guilty. So, what happens? You start to think a lot about what you did wrong, thinking how you’re not good enough. You end up doing it again because the only thing on your mind is what you did wrong. And that makes you feel worse. So now you’re thinking even more about how bad you are and what you did wrong. With it always on your mind, what do you do? You do it again. And it’s just never ending until you get your heart focused on something else.” (Psychology Resource) Is your heart reserved for Christ only? Or is yours filled with everything else? A song by Creed said, “What controls your heart controls your eyes.” Jesus in Luke 12:34 said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 9TH - 6:00PM AT ACHS AUDITORIUM

This will be a night of Worship you will not want to

miss! This special night of worship is hosted by the

Garnett Ministerial Alliance. We will be led in song by a

local Gospel Jam group. They will lead the old hymns

with a creative flare that will lead us to the throne of

God. The message will be brought by Al Aceves who is a former leader of the Mongals the

rival gang of the Hells Angels. His life turned from gangster to grace; from mayhem to

minister. His story will fill you with hope & inspiration. You will feel the redemptive power of

God by his message! Refreshments and fellowship following the event.

In the first picture is the girls standing by a circle as they

play games, Lenna on the left and Abigayl on the right.

The other pictures are of the children they worked with

while in Croatia.

Following the Trip to Croatia with Lenna & Abigayl

1. Quick update on Lenna and Abigayl in Croatia. This

is there last day in Croatia. They have been very busy,

hardworking girls while in Croatia. At the teen camp they

were a part of a 15-people team. They not only cooked,

but were the actors as they told the Bible stories.

At the Day Vacation Bible School, they helped acting out

the Bible stories as well as helped with the games and

the coloring activities for the children. They had a total of

75 children at the VBS and 10 mothers that came also.

Thank you for your prayers for my granddaughters.

Gaylette told me they were having a good time and

enjoying working with the Price family and the Roma

children. Gayla

2. The girls are home. They arrived in Wichita a little

after 8 p.m. last night and back to Minneola

between 12:30 and 1 a.m. this morning. Happy to be

home and diving into school work this morning after a

short night.

Again, I want to thank you for praying for the girls so

diligently. They had a wonderful experience. Gayla
