OUR PURPOSE IN FOUR PARTS

G od’s Word states that without a vision people depart from a fruitful, God given purpose. To be effective, we must have a clear understanding of our mission and what it is we are called to do.

(Proverbs 29:18; Habakkuk 2:2-3) We are called to: 1. REACH the lost.

• John 1:35-50; Acts 2:42-47.

• We reach the lost by presenting Jesus Christ in relevant and relational ways that would draw the non-Christian person to personally meet and receive Christ. This is also accomplished by meeting people at their point of need.

2. RESTORE those whom God brings.

• Luke 4:14-21 (Isaiah 61:1-3), 15:11-24; John 11:43-44.

• We restore broken lives by loving and accepting people as they are, for who they are. We then assist them in their freedom from bondage, hurt, torment and imbalance.

3. EQUIP God’s people for service.

• Ephesians 4:11-16; 2 Timothy 2:15; John 13:3-17; Matthew 9:37-38.

• God’s desire is that everyone experiences a meaningful place of service in the Body of Christ. We provide people with tools they can discover their spiritual gifts, personal style of service and their passion in life and then to give them an opportunity to serve Christ by serving His people.

4. EXTEND into the Harvest.

• Matthew 28:18-20; John 4:35; Acts 1:8.

• We believe that Christ commissioned us to go into all the world with the Gospel and to make disciples of all nations. This is accomplished by spreading His Love at home and through missions projects and trips abroad.

We believe our highest purpose is to be a people known for His Presence as prophesied to Christian Life Center by Leslie Keegle, Sri Lanka National Foursquare leader, years ago... ...There will be a move of My Spirit. Have your eyes on Me, hunger and thirst for My righteousness, for My Spirit and My word. ...and innumerable people will come and fall on their faces before Me. This place shall be known for My glory. This place will be known for My attendance for I will pour out My Spirit says the Lord, and you shall be known as a people of My Presence. As we faithfully obey His Voice, we can expect Him to lead us into the greatest adventure of our lives, to see Him touch people locally and globally in 2021.

THE FOURSQUARE CHURCH Christian Life Center is part of a worldwide movement called The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) founded by the early 20th century evangelist, Aimee Semple McPherson who opened the historic Angelus Temple in 1923. The Foursquare Church is a Pentecostal Denomination that resulted from Aimee’s dynamic evangelistic ministry. The term “Foursquare Gospel” was given in the inspiration of revival to the denomination’s founder, Aimee Semple McPherson, during an evangelistic campaign in Oakland, CA, in 1922. It is expressed by the verse, Hebrews 13:8, displayed in Foursquare churches proclaiming, “Jesus Christ the Same, Yesterday and Today and Forever.” The Foursquare Gospel is Jesus our Savior (Isaiah

53:5), Jesus the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit (John 1:29-34; Acts 1:5, 8); Jesus the Great Burden-Bearer, who carried our sicknesses (Matthew 8:17); Jesus the Soon Coming King, who will return in power and victory for the church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Foursquare Today We have over 88,000 ministers in 68,000 churches and meeting places serving more than 8 million members around the world. In addition, we have more than 100 missionaries serving local people, not to mention thousands of people joining them on short-term missions trips each year. All this translated into over 2 million salvations, almost 800,000 water baptisms and over 900,000 Holy Spirit baptisms. We can definitely say that “the sun never sets on the Foursquare flag!” For more information on the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel visit the website at www.foursquare.org.

THE THINGS WE VALUE

1. We exalt Jesus as Lord and give Him a dominant place in the life of our church.

2. We are a Spirit-filled Foursquare Church balanced in doctrine, passionate in worship, prophetic in preaching, contending for the supernatural and exercising the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

3. We are inclusive of cultures, genders, and generations.

4. We provide an environment of love, joy, and hope where others are loved and accepted unconditionally for who they are and where relationships are developed so that people can be freed from bondages, hurt, torment and imbalance.

5. We provide an environment where people of all ages are able to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and influence our generation for God’s Kingdom.

6. We provide training and opportunities to serve in ways that fulfill God’s Divine calling for the individual.

7. We have a team perspective of leadership where future leaders are mentored and empowered.

8. We have a passion for local evangelism and world missions and endeavor to train disciples, release ministries, and enlarge God’s Kingdom.

THE DISCIPLESHIP INSTITUTE This is an Institute Ministry of Christian Life Center, a Foursquare Church. Our mission is to equip God’s people to fulfill Christ’s Great Commandment (Matthew 22:35-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). This is a three-part activity where faith becomes action: 1. Academics — Through an academic, Spirit led approach, we come to see God’s heart and His

purposes through correct Biblical understanding and interpretation. (2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17) 2. Service — A submitted servant’s heart is the basis for leadership in the Church. This is

accomplished by participating in the vision of the church and accomplishing the goals given to the leadership by the Holy Spirit. (John 13:3-17; Ephesians 4:16)

3. Missions — The mandate for disciples is to develop God’s passion for the lost and to be

involved in the Lord’s Harvest on a local and global level. (Matthew 9:37-38, 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

Ephesians 4:11-16 (CEB)

He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. His purpose was to equip God’s people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ

until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully grown, measured by the standard

of the fullness of Christ. As a result, we aren’t supposed to be infants any longer who can be tossed and blown around by every wind that comes from those who deliberately mislead others.

Instead, by speaking the truth with love, let’s grow in every way into Christ, who is the head. The whole body grows from him, as it is joined and held together by all the supporting ligaments.

The body makes itself grow in that it builds itself up with love as each one does its part.
