SPOUSAL BEREAVEMENT GROUP Christ the Redeemer will be offering a bereavement support group for widows and widowers coping with the loss of a spouse beginning September 16, 2014. “You are thinking not as God does…” Just last week we heard Jesus bless Simon Peter for profession faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. Today, Peter’s mind is like ours, recoiling from God’s plan because it involves suffering and death. Yet, all human life involves these things. They are inescapable. Yet through Jesus we see God’s plan unfold for us, revealed in the life, death, and Resurrection of the Lord. Faith is a gift from God that enables us to know God’s will for us. It enables us to see as God sees and welcomes us to God’s plan for humanity. Now may be the time for you to consider exploring this gift and plan by speaking to other Catholics who belong to this parish and profess this faith.
