THANK YOU for remembering our food boxes this summer. The Thomas Merton Center has provided our parish with a “Wish List” of items needed for their guests. Items include, Olive Oil, Whole Wheat Pasta, Brown Rice, Large Canned Goods, Hot Sauce, Fresh Potatoes, Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Apple Cider, White and Red Wine Vinegars, Spices, and Drink Mixes. Please pick up a Wish List Flyer in the Church en-trances. Boxes to drop off the items will be made available in the entrances. Thank you for your generosity. A MASS OF HEALING AND HOPE will take place at Christ the King Church on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church. Fr. Carew will preside. All are welcome to attend. DEFENDING OUR RELIGIOUS LIBERTY-On May 16th, the Supreme Court in a unanimous ruling sent the contraceptive mandate legal challenges back to the lower courts, vacated earlier judgments against those parties opposing the mandate, and encouraged the two sides to resolve their differences. Attorneys for the plaintiffs are hopeful that a compromise will be able to be reached in these cases. If you haven’t done so already, please voice your opposition to the federal health care mandate by calling U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Mathews Burwell at 202-205-5445, and your elected representatives. Let them know that the mandate is in violation of our First Amendment right to religious freedom. If you have called, call again, our representatives need to listen to us. BULLETIN ADVERTISEMENTS– Liturgical Publications Inc., our bulletin publisher, will have Peter Silvestri in our parish the week of August 22nd through August 26th. We encourage our parishioners who have a business to advertise in our bulletin. Parishioners who are new to the Trumbull area are in need of various services in our community. Your ad will also appear on our parish website where our bulletin is viewed. To place an ad in our bulletin, please call the parish office at 268-8695 and ask for Peter the week of the 22nd.

2016 ANNUAL APPEAL PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL! We are still about $6,500.00 short of our parish goal of $80,000.00. If you have not yet made a gift , please pray about your decision and make a pledge or one-time gift. Please complete a pledge card located in the Church pews, or go online directly to www.2016ACAbridgeport.com. Together we are Christ’s guiding light for the lives of thousands in our diocesan communities.
