CHRIST THE KING Trumbull

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL NO 2961 will have monthly meetings at Christ the King Parish Center the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

CENTERS OF MERCY-In order to foster a more fruitful investment in the Jubilee Year of Mercy, The Centers of Mercy will be open, and a priest will be available to offer The Sacrament of Reconciliation, each Tuesday or Thursday evening, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. throughout the Year of Mercy. On Tuesday evening, St Catherine of Sienna, Trumbull will offer Confession, and on Thursday evening, St. Theresa, Trumbull will offer the Sacrament. Please visit our website at www.christthekingtrumbull.org for a full listing of all the Centers of Mercy in our Diocese. DEFENDING OUR RELIGIOUS LIBERTY- In Catholic teaching, the Second Vatican Council “declare[d] that the human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.” (Dignitatis Humanae, No. 2.) If you haven’t done so already, please voice your opposition to the federal health care mandate by calling U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Mathews Burwell at 202-205-5445, and your elected state representatives. Let them know that the mandate is in violation of our First Amendment right to religious freedom. VENERATION OF THE IMAGE OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE will be sponsored by the St. Lawrence Prayer Group on June 27 & June 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church Shelton CT. The beautiful image that travels around the world was exposed at the Immaculate Conception Basilica of D.C., Franciscan Monastery and Churches around the area. Many who touch the Tilma of Our Blessed Mother are able to hear the heartbeat of Our Blessed Mother and the heartbeat of baby Jesus. There have been instances when Our Blessed Mother wept tears of oil and her hands felt warm to the touch. Still others have smelled the heavenly scent of roses. Come for an evening of prayer, veneration from 4-6 p.m., talk at 6p.m., Rosary at 6:30 p.m., Mass at 7p.m., and Adoration and Benediction from 8-9p.m.. For further information contact Deacon Frank Masso at 203-929-7128 or [email protected]

FAITH AND YOUR FAMILY: Pray“ The family celebrates the gospel of life through daily prayer, both individual prayer and family prayer. The family prays in order to glorify and give thanks to God for the gift of life, and implores his light and strength in order to face times of difficulty and suffering without losing hope. But the celebration that gives meaning to every other form of prayer and worship is found in the family’s actual daily life together, if it is a life of love and self-giving.” (St. John Paul II)
