PASTOR JOHNDear Friends,

I grew up always hear-ing that ‘April showers bring May flowers’, but after this past month I think we will have to change the saying to ‘May showers bring June flowers’ (and mosquitoes and flash floods too). What a crazy month, but also what a blessing, for God to pour down upon us with His life giving water. My lawn has never looked so green - granted it is made up of weeds and not grass, but it is green nevertheless. I saw out in California where some of the people have taken to painting their grass green because of their severe drought situation. We, too, have been suffer-ing through a number of

drought years, and so these past rains have come as a very welcome and much needed relief to our water crisis and as an answer to many prayers. Though our lakes may not be full, and though our water restric-tions may still be in place, may we each remember to thank God for this past month of blessings that He has showered down upon us.

To God be the glory.

Have a great monthPastor John

P.S. And in the midst of our blessings may we also remember to pray for all those who have been hurt and harmed by the recent floods and storms. R & R GROuP RELAXED & RETIRED--but always “Rarin’ to Go”!!

Everyone is invited to the 4th of July Party, hosted by Roy Pietsch & Mary Ann Triesch on Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at 12 noon. Join in the Red, White, and Blue Party and wear patriotic col-ors! EuNicE Guild

The Ladies of the Eunice Guild say a big ‘Thank You!’ to everyone for the tremen-dous outpouring of love through the soap collection for Lutheran World Relief this past Lenten Season. PuMPKiNS, ANyONE?Halloween is 5 (or so) months away, but now is the time for us to consider host-ing a Pumpkin Patch for the neighborhood (Grace Methodist is no longer hosting one.) It would take a coordinated effort of many volunteers to create and man the patch, but it would be a great connection and service to our community as well as a fund-raiser for us. Please sign our sheet in the narthex

if you believe this would be a good thing for us to host and if you would be willing to be one of our volunteers. (For more information con-tact Jordan or Pastor John.)

SERMON SERiES

Beginning on May 31st and running for the dura-tion of summer, Pastor John will be preaching a sermon series which he has entitled “Debunking the World’s Lies.” Each week he will expose and examine a lie that we each hear frequently in our lives and may have even come to accept as true, and he will then counter that lie with the truth of God’s Word. Please plan to follow these sermons either in worship or on-line throughout the entire summer series.

Thailand Trek Starting Sunday, May

31 through August 30, children age 3 - Grade 5 will take a trek through Thailand on Sunday morn-ings during the Christian Education hour in a cross culture Vacation Bible School experience. The children will spend time at stations of Thai Treats, Experience Thailand, Bible Adventures, and Thai Games learning that Jesus died and rose for everyone everywhere, and sing songs and serve as part of our Church’s support of the Thailand Children’s Mis-sion. For service learning during their Bible Study of The Story, the youth will be helping with VBS activities again. God is real. God is love. God is forgiving. God is forever... Believe it, and be at VBS this summer!

Visual Arts CampSign up your child(ren)

today to draw, sculpt, paint, and collaborate at Visual Arts Camp. Caring FellowshipThe fourth and final

video in the Mission State-ment series will be about Caring Fellowship at Christ. It will feature how the people of Christ care for one another through fellowship around annual fellowship events and Sun-day worship services, and also by gathering through-out the week for studies and service. If you would like to share something about what being a part of our Church Family at Christ means to you and how the fellowship that happens here among God’s family is a blessing to your faith in Christ, please con-tact Jordan to set up a time to interview.

Rally DayStay tuned for details

about Rally Day and our annual beginning and cel-ebration of a new Chris-tian Education year among our Church Family.

Christmas ProgramThank you for recy-

cling Christmas cards from Christmases past and re-purposing them toward artwork for a future pageant. The children and youth at Christ will be creating a set using the Christmas card covers for this year’s production, and as tradition, presenting the timeless message of the first Christmas to the con-gregation in December.

Church Pictorial Directory

Youth RoomThe renovation of

Rooms 5&6 into a Youth Room has now moved into the painting phase - to start with one side of the room will tell The Story of the Bible in 50 words, while another will have a series of hardwood paintings depicting the birth, death, and resurrec-tion of Jesus.
