Opening Prayer Song of the Day Eye of the Storm Chorus In the eye of the storm You remain in control In the middle of the war You guard my soul You alone are the anchor When my sails are torn Your love surrounds me (In the eye of the storm) Verse 1 When the solid ground is falling out From underneath my feet Between the black skies and my red eyes I can barely see

When I realize I've been sold out By my friends and my family I can feel the rain reminding me Verse 2 When my hopes and dreams are far from me And I'm runnin' out of faith I see the future I picture Slowly fade away And when the tears of pain and heartache Are pouring down my face I find my peace in Jesus' name Verse 3 When they let me go and I just don't know how I'm gonna make ends meet I did my best, now I'm scared to death that we might lose everything And when a sickness takes my child away and there's nothing I can do My only hope is to trust you. I trust you Lord. Interlude Oh in the eye of Lord in the eye of the storm I know You're watchin' me yeah Eh Bridge When the storm is ragin' (When the storm is ragin') And my hope is gone (And my hope is gone Lord) When my flesh is failin' You're still holdin' on (Oh) Bridge When the storm is ragin' (When the storm is ragin')

Matthew 13:1-9,18-23 - The Parable of the Sower 13 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was

scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.” 18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Message – Matt Hatleli Prayers of the Day Good Good Father Verse 1 I've heard a thousand stories Of what they think You’re like But I've heard the tender whisper Of love in the dead of night You tell me that You’re pleased And that I'm never alone Chorus You're a Good Good Father It's who You are It's who You are It's who You are And I'm loved by You

CLC FOODSHELF NEWS! Each week we are serving up bags filled with several meals of healthy, non-perishable food to several families in need. Once a month, we order approximately $1,000 (!) worth of food from Feed My People Food Bank. You can help in two ways: Donate money to the FoodShelf Fund or donate food items. We need: canned peaches, pears, oranges, and applesauce; canned green beans, corn, peas, and carrots; spaghetti pasta and noodles; canned soup; canned chicken or tuna; minute rice and mashed potatoes; and peanut butter and jelly. Please place all food donations in one of the collection carts--outside the church office or in the narthex. IF YOU SEW OR DO CRAFTS, would you please consider making masks for everyone to wear here at church when services resume once again in the building? The pattern to make masks may be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html. Masks are also needed to send to Lutheran World Relief this fall, so any extra masks would be appreciated for that as well. There was also a request from Dunn County for masks for county employees, so there is a need for cloth masks--locally and globally! Please pass this along to anyone who know who may like to help by making masks. Thank you! OUR ANNUAL “PACK THE PARK” OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE and fundraising event has been cancelled for the 2020 year. This decision was made collectively due to concern for the health and safety of our congregations, the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases, and the CDC's recommendation against large gatherings. We are saddened by this and will miss all the fun that we have at this event. We look forward to seeing you at the event in August 2021. Blessings; stay safe and healthy! Katie Wagner, Director of Lutheran Campus Ministry - UW-Stout
