Special collection for Haiti
September 18th and 19th
The people of Haiti experienced both an earthquake and a tropical storm earlier this
month. The Bishops of United States are inviting the faithful in all parishes in the USA to
respond to our brothers and sister in HAITI through a special collection. Bishop Michael
McGovern of Belleville Diocese is inviting parishioners in Belleville Diocese to support
this special collection for Haiti in the month of September. For our Partnership Parishes
of St. Rose of Lima - Metropolis, and St. Patrick - Cairo, the Haiti Collection will be on
weekend of September 18th-19th. God loves a cheerful giver - 2 Cor. 9:7
Praying for Missionaries
The Lord Jesus
That night stood by him (Paul) and said, “Take courage.”
For just as you gave witness to me in Jerusalem, (at home)
So you must also bear witness to me in Rome (far from home)”
—Acts 23:11
God Bless our pastor: a missionary since 8/23/2006, now 15 years
(Luke 17:10 & 1 Corinthians 2:1-5)
