A PLACE TO CALL HOME April 1, 2018

CHRIST HAS RISEN HALLELUJAH! HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS HIS NAME

I PRAY PEACE & GRACE IS ABUNDANTLY YOURS THROUGH GOD OUR FATHER & JESUS CHRIST OUR KING & SAVIOR.

This is a day of celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our King and Savior. Let

us celebrate His victory as He now holds the keys to death & hades as He sits at the right

hand of the Father. We may pass from this world, but through Christ’s teachings, sacrifices,

crucifixion, & resurrection we can now gain eternal life with Him. Hallelujah! Rejoice in the

knowledge that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever

believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the

world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16,17)

HE’S ALIVE ! HE’S ALIVE ! HE’S ALIVE !

I believe it is important to address the Easter egg “tradition” that has existed for hundreds of years.

It was a “tradition” in the early Eastern Orthodox & Catholic churches. The Easter egg was considered

symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They painted or dyed Easter eggs “red” to represent

the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross. The eggs were blessed & distributed to the

congregation. The hard shell of the egg represented the sealed Tomb of Christ & cracking the shell

represented Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Moreover, historically Christians would abstain from

eating eggs & meat during Lent & Easter was the first chance to eat eggs after a long period of

abstinence. Now there are plastic eggs that hold candies as well, but the principle can still be explained

to the children & provide a true understanding of the real meaning of Easter.

God bless each and every one of you

and grant you peace thru His great mercy.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

“Matt: 18 4,10 – Therefore, whoever takes the

lowly position of this child is the greatest in the

kingdom of Heaven. - See that you do not despise

one of these little ones for I tell you that their

angels in Heaven always see the face of my Father

in Heaven.”

God is telling us that not only are we protected

by angels when we are children, if we humble

ourselves like them when we become adults the

angels will still protect us as heirs of the

kingdom. When anyone gives us trouble, the

angels are watching. They have been given the

authority to go before God & report the

transgressions or troubles that come against

us. God can send them as ministering spirits to

come to our aid. We can stand on God’s word

& pray for help.

Romans 8:17 – And if we are children, then we

are heirs; heirs of God & co-heirs with Christ – if

indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also

be glorified with Him.

Psalm 34:7 – The angels encamp around those

who fear (respect) the Lord & delivers them.

Hebrews 1:14 – Are they not all ministering

spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who

are to inherit salvation.

Psalm 27:5 – For He will hide me in His shelter

in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under

the cover of His tent; He will lift me high upon a

rock.

Psalm 91:10,11 – No harm will overtake you,

no disaster will come near your tent. For He will

command His angels concerning you to guard

you in all your ways;

Excerpt from Jesus Calling:

“PEACE BE WITH YOU”

After my resurrection, the first words I spoke to

My disciples were, “Peace be with you!” You also

need to be reminded of the divine nature of this

gift, for it is not the world’s peace I give you: it is

Peace that transcends all understanding! As you

receive My glorious Peace, you gain deeper

intimacy with Me – the richest blessing of all!

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; My peace I

give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled & do not be

afraid.”

John 20:19 – On the evening of that first day of

the week, when the disciples were together, with

the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came

& stood among them & said, “Peace be with

you!”

Philippians 4: 6,7 – Do not be anxious about

anything, but in every situation, by prayer &

petition with thanksgiving present your requests

to God. And the peace of God, which transcends

all understanding, will guard your hearts & your

minds in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 13:11 – Be of good comfort, be of

one mind, live in peace; and the God of love &

peace will be with you.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 – Now may the Lord of

peace Himself give you peace at all times & in

every way. The Lord be with all of you.

LOVE WAS IN THE ROOM Mary sings

It was early in the morning & a stillness filled the garden where He lay. Then the ground shook with power & the angels

came & rolled the stone away. All the glory of the Living God broke thru to the darkness of the tomb. And the love of the

Father came & filled every corner of the room.

Love was in the room & new life was born where only death had been. Love was in the room & death & hell would

never reign again. When the glory of the Living God broke thru to the darkness of the tomb. The earth was filled with

His beauty & love was in the room.

I was trapped in sin & weakness sinking ever deeper day by day. Then the blessed Holy spirit came to touch my heart &

roll the stone away. All the glory of the Living God broke thru to the darkness of the tomb & the love of the Father came

& filled every corner of my room. C. Love was in the room, love was in the room. Love was in the room.

THREE OLD RUSTY NAILS Brenda sings

He came from Galilee a carpenter by trade. Came to build His Father’s church on plans they had made. His destiny was

Calvary, His mission would not fail. He would build His church on a wooden cross with 3 old rusty nails.

Oh, this church is still standing & it will never fall. Blood stained its foundation and faith put up its walls. And though

the world may come against it, oh, they will not prevail. Cause He built this church on a rugged cross with 3 old rusty

nails.

Bricks & stone themselves alone aren’t everything it takes to build a church that will stand so strong when this old world

begins to shake. Man may build his building tall, but they will be so frail compared to this church that Jesus built with 3

old rusty nails. C.

HE LIVES Debbie sings

Jesus hung upon the cross; a crown of thorns upon His brow. So, they said, “If you’re the Son of God why don’t He save

you now?” And then they pierced Him in the side, “Save your life they cried.” Total darkness hid the sun, the King of Kings

has died.

They put Him in a borrowed tomb after He was dead, then soldiers rolled a stone upon the door the Bible says. Pilot let

the soldiers guard the tomb there where my Savior lay, but the tomb they sealed & guarded couldn’t hold Him on that

day.

Now He lives, yes, He lives, He lives inside this happy heart of mine. There’s no way to make me doubt it, I’m a gonna

sing & I’m a gonna shout it. I know that Jesus lives inside this happy heart of mine.

“He has risen, He has risen,” Mary heard the angel say, “He’s no longer here among the dead, He lives this very day. Oh,

the stone that held Him prisoner was rolled back from the door & the Son of God that slept there, now lives forever

more”. C.

YOUR LAST MILE Rick sings

You only tried to love us, but we pushed Your love away. You wanted to be needed, so You died for us that day. The

painful look upon Your face; You replaced with a smile. Oh, the shame You bore as You walked Your last mile.

Thorns were so painful as you followed close behind. You never looked defeated as You spoke with words so kind. With

the timbers placed upon Your back & Your eyes raised to the sky. Oh, the shame You bore as You walked Your last mile.

Nailed You to a cross so high upon a hill. As they took Your life; You shed grace upon them still. Thunder roared, the

lightning flashed. You were meek as a child. Oh, the shame You bore as You walked Your last mile. C.

O COME TO THE ALTER Addison sings

Are you hurting & broken within? Overwhelmed by the weight of the sin? Jesus is calling. Have you come to the end of

yourself? Do you thirst for a drink from the well? Jesus is calling.

O, come to the altar; the Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was brought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Leave behind your regrets & mistakes; come today there’s no reason to wait. Jesus is calling. Bring your sorrows & trade them

for joy. From the ashes a new life is born. Jesus is calling. C.

Oh, what a Savior, isn’t He wonderful? Sing hallelujah, Christ is risen; bow down before Him for He is Lord of all. Sing hallelujah,

Christ is risen. C.

Page 6: CHRIST HAS RISEN HALLELUJAH! HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS HIS NAMEwesternstarcowboychurch.com/uploads/3/4/2/4/... · a place to call home april 1, 2018 christ has risen hallelujah! holy, holy,

SO MUCH GOD Pastor Bobby, Adam & Eric sing

Who was that babe born in Bethlehem, they laid Him in a manger; there was no room in the inn. He was born of a

virgin, He was God’s only Son. The angels shouted in the night that “Christ had come!”

Who was that man, the man of Galilee who made the lame to walk & caused the blind to see? He cleansed the spotted

leper, He spoke with authority, He broke the chains of sin & set the captives free.

He was so much man that He slept in a boat, yet He was so much God that the winds ceased when He spoke. He was

so much man that He wept when Lazarus died, yet He was so much God, Lazarus came forth when He cried. He was

so much man that he thirsted at the well, yet He was so much God that He saved her soul from hell. He was so much

man that He died upon a tree, He was so much God that He rose in victory.

Who was that man who crying from the tree, “Father please forgive them for what they’ve done to Me.” They placed

Him in a borrowed tomb, a stone held fast the door. He rose up from the grave & He lives forever more. C.

HE’S ALIVE (In the words of Peter) Pastor Bobby sings

The gates & doors were barred & all the windows fastened down. I spent the night in sleeplessness & rose at every

sound. Half in hopeless sorrow & half in fear the day, I would find the soldiers breaking through to drag us all away. And

just before the sunrise, I heard something at the wall. The gate began to rattle & a voice began to call. I hurried to the

window & looked down into the street expecting swords & torches & the sound of soldier’s feet.

There was no one there but Mary, so I went down to let her in. John stood there beside me as she told us where she’d

been. She said, “They moved Him in the night & none of us knows where. The stone’s been rolled away & now His body

isn’t there.” We both ran toward the garden then John ran on ahead, we found the stone & the empty tomb just the

way that Mary said. But the winding sheet they wrapped Him in was just an empty shell & how or where they’d taken

Him was more than I could tell.

Well, something strange had happened there, but just what I didn’t know. John believed a miracle, but I just turned to

go. Circumstance & speculation couldn’t lift me very high cause I’d seen them crucify Him, then I saw Him die. Back

inside the house again the guilt & anguish came. Everything I’d promised Him just added to my shame. When at last it

came to choices, I denied I knew His name & even if He was alive, it wouldn’t be the same.

But suddenly the air was filled with strange & sweet perfume, light that came from everywhere drove shadows from the

room. Jesus stood before me with His arms held open wide & I fell down on my knees & just clung to Him & cried. He

raised me to my feet & as I looked into His eyes. Love was shining out from Him like sunlight from the skies. Guilt & my

confusion disappeared in sweet release, every fear I’d ever had just melted into peace.

He’s alive, He’s alive, He’s alive & I’m forgiven, Heaven’s gates are open wide. He’s alive, He’s alive, He’s alive & I’m

forgiven, Heaven’s gates are open wide. He’s alive, He’s alive, He’s alive!

HALLELUJAH EASTER Adam sings

A crown of thorns placed on His head, He knew that He would soon be dead. He said, “Did you forget Me Father, did

You?” they nailed Him to a wooden cross. Soon all the world would feel the loss of Christ the King before His Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.

He hung His head & prepared to die then lifted His face up to the sky. Said, “I am coming home now Father to You.” A

reed which held His final sip was gently lifted to His lips, He drank His last & gave His soul to glory. C.

The soldier who had used his sword to pierce the body of our Lord said, “Truly this is Jesus Christ our Savior.” He looked

with fear upon his sword then turned to face his Christ & Lord, fell to his knees crying Hallelujah. C.

Took from His head the thorny crown & wrapped Him in a linen gown & laid Him down to rest inside the tomb. The

holes in His hands, His feet & side now in our hearts we know He died to save us from ourselves oh, Hallelujah. C.

Three days went by again they came to move the stone to bless the slain with oil & spice anointing Hallelujah. But as

they went to move the stone they saw that they were not alone, but Jesus Christ has risen, Hallelujah. C.
