Family Promise of Cobb County Update 7/22/15
Currently, our network is hosting 2 families for a total of 11 people.
Family #1= Lachelle, her son Trevon (17). Her son Jordan (15), her son Jontae (8), her son Toriek (7), her daughter Mia (3), and her son Maxwell (a 3 month old).
Family #2= Daria (pronounced Da-Ray) and her son Daniel (8), her son Dylan (5) and her son Darian (3).
Lachelle is looking for an apartment. Please forward any places for rent you know about in the area. Must be at least a three bedroom. We have lots of kids(9) in the network currently so be prepared for high energy. And now is the time to borrow some toys at your congregation for them to play with. Gold Star Volunteers Bob and Pat Pepper (St. Catherine’s) recently donated to FPCC in honor of their friends. The Pep-pers made a donation in honor of the 40thwedding anniversary of Hale and Diane Sanders (St. Cathe-rine’s) and the 50th wedding anniversary of Barb and Bill Selby (St. Catherine’s). Congratulations to all three couples for being such great examples for those around them.
Jim and Joan Nixon (St. Catherine’s) made a car donation to Massey Automotive. Massey Auto was able to sell that car and a donation was made to FPCC of over $800. Thanks to the Nixons for their gift. Remember, if you have an old car you are thinking about getting rid of, consider donating it to FPCC. We can use it for our guests or sell it for a cash donation.
The date has been set for the One Family Concert. We will all join together in song on August 29, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Unity North Atlanta will be our host this year. Volunteer trainings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month. The next training is scheduled for Au-gust 11, 2015 at East Cobb UMC from 7-9 pm. Please have volunteers con-tact [email protected] byAugust 4, 2015. Our trainers, Tim and Christine
Schneller, will also provide training at your congregation if needed. NEEDS: Kids bike helmets
As the beginning of the school year approaches, all the kids currently in the program are in need of clothing and shoes. We would love for you to consider adopting one of the children and helping with getting clothes for the school year. You can organize donations of gently used clothing or purchase new items for the child.
