4 The Creed p. 189 The Intercessions

The challenges and rewards of living by faith. Knowing our need of God, let us pray. Father, we bring to mind our Church, both here in Amherst and throughout the world. It is for right values and right priorities that we pray, in all we decide and do. Lord our God: in you we put our trust. We bring to mind all who lead and govern, and all meetings where important decisions are made. We pray that justice and mercy are upheld in line with your loving will. Lord our God: in you we put our trust. We bring to mind our circle of family and friends with whom we share the good and the difficult times. We pray for the grace to discern more readily the good in each person and the gifts they have to offer. Lord our God: in you we put our trust. We bring to mind those caught up in the frenetic pressures of life, and those who are stressed to breaking point. We pray for insight and courage to change things.

5 Lord our God: in you we put our trust. We bring to mind the dying, especially those who are alone, and we remember those we know who have died. May they and we share in the everlasting joy of your presence. Lord our God: in you we put our trust. We thank you, Father, for all the wise teaching you have given us through Christ. Give us grace to be doers of the word and not hearers only. Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR

Christ Church will be participating in the Coldest Night of the Year walk this year!

The Coldest Night of the Year is on Saturday, February 23, 2019. CNOY is a family-friendly national walk-a-thon that helps raise funds for charities that serve hungry, homeless and hurting people in Amherst, and in 136 communities across Canada. The walk can be 2 km or 5 km. We are looking for people who would like to participate in the walk, and people who will sponsor the walkers! Talk to Will for more information.

Do you have what it takes to be the next Brad Pitt?...Do you want to experience "being" Meryl Streep? Now's your chance.

Christ Church Players will be staging a production of "Easter" by August Strindberg under the direction of Director/Producer Dale Fawthrop. We are now recruiting actors, a stage manager, props person, and publicity agent for April 12 & 13 presentations. This will be a "readers" performance, no memorization required. There will only be 4 - 5 rehearsals. Readers Needed: One female 40+; Two females 13+; Two males 13+. Interested? Questions? Those interested in auditions should submit their name to the Office by Feb. 13th.
