Retail: Maccus Goethe Flagship ShowroomProject Information

Background:I collaborated with Bruno and Gennaro to create their Flagship Showroom in Rome, Italy. The footprint of the space is from an existing building and I had to use triangulation measuring to figure out the dimensions of the interior. During this project I used Revit, Pho-toshop, and Illustrator.

Client Profile:Two Neapolitan born designers collaborate to create Maccus Goethe, deriving inspiration from modern architecture, human anatomy, and animation. They have built their line around the use of laser and 3D printing technology, allowing them to create their dynamic, innovative sportswear inspired line. Recently graduating from IED in Rome, they bring a fresh look to the fashion scene. Committed to creating a techno-logically linked community through their fashion line, Maccus Goethe gives a glimpse at the future of fash-ion.

Concept:The Maccus Goethe Rome Flagship showroom will present their line in a progressive and tactile way. A chromatically neutral and fluid space contrasts the sculptural and constructed clothing of the Maccus Goethe line. Curvilinear and seamless surfaces, create a visual relationship between the clothing and its kinetic context. Natural and artificial lights draw the eye upward to showcase the expansion and compres-sion vertical space within the showroom. The visual flow not only will propel customers through the retail space but, connect them to total retail experience of Maccus Goethe.

Residential: Fairmont Condominium

Project InformationBackground:I was tasked with designing a one-story condominium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a family profile I was assigned. I had to work with the exterior shell, which included fixed windows and two sliding doors to balconies. I used AutoCAD Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and a Laser Printer for the model. Client Profile:My clients are Rick and Allison. Rick is a retired Lieu-tenant in the Army. He is from Minnesota and currently resides in the Art Museum district in Phila-delphia, Pennsylvania. While in the military he sustained minor injuries to his shoulders and knees but they will not lead to him relying on a wheelchair. He currently works at the Art Museum. Allison is 13 years old and plays the violin. She requires her own space for practicing.

Concept:I am creating a condo that fits the physical needs of Rick and Allison. It will feature a Mediterranean style triad color scheme of blues, reds, and yellows and textured wall finishes. The inspiration for the space focuses on the Persian rug and the colors found in it.

Residential: La Salle Residence

Project InformationBackground:I had to work in a group of two to design a luxury residence in Wayzata, MN. The residence had to have a ground level with a full size basement. I completed the entire ground level and my partner did the entire basement level. I used AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to complete this project.

Client Needs:Andre needs his own “man space” which includes a display for his various trophies and sports memorabil-ia. He needs plenty of storage off the entry to store various sports equipment and out door materials. Iris is a collector of fine art, so she needs space to display her art collection. She also works from home so she needs a home office. Aisha is Andre’s mother and is currently living with them while she recovers from chemo and surgery. She needs an aide to have easy access to her and she will only be living there for six months.

Concept:We are creating a luxury home for the La Salle family in Wayzata, Minnesota. An open concept with spaces defined by columns and archways give a feeling of gravitas coined by Roman architecture. Custom Finishes paired with granites, marbles, and elegant textiles produce a tasteful and luxurious design.

Renovation: Fire and Water Café

Project InformationBackground:I was assigned a building on the Iowa State campus, Morrill Hall, and had to renovate and re-purpose an existing space. I decided to turn it into a café. I used hand drafting, marker rendering, and Photoshop. I also made a model by hand to create the space three-dimensionally.

Client Profile:Iowa State University wanted another study spot on their campus with a rapidly growing student popula-tion. ISU wanted a space that could serve multiple purposes and provide a spot for student socialization and academic use.

Concept:The Fire and Water Café is to provide an energetic and playful environment through the use of an open floor plan. This is achieved with the use of curves and an intense color scheme of blues and oranges and neutrals. The warm hues of the colors will help provide an energetic environment.

Sculpture: Ideation Sculpture

Project InformationIdeation Sculpture: I started by making sculptures out of foamcore and pins. Then I combined them to create the final color sculpture using wood, milk carton, wax, and foamcore. I was inspired by Peter Halley’s painting “Fire In The Sky”.

Wood Working: Savonarola Chair Model

Project InformationSavonarola Chair: I created this using basswood for the leg slats and maple for the seat. I used a laser cutter to cut the slats to ensure the preciseness of each one. Then I hand sawed the seat pieces and glued them together. This was done at a 1/8” = 1” scale so to simulate an inlay of leather on the seat, I stained it a dark walnut to give the effect of leather.
