Background• The different pictures of the artist

reflect his personality, and how he

is different to everyone else

• Bright, colorful – attracts attention

as well as targeting a younger

audience (early teens – mid

twenties)

-we can also infer from the soft tones

used, that there is more to the artist

other than vocals , such as dancing

and acting

Artist• The artist is looking at his audience,

which conveys that he is confident

• His facial expression is stern yet

vulnerable, suggesting the album

has meaning

• The image of Chris Brown is graffiti

, which has reference to an urban

background and the birth of the

hip-hop/rnb genre the artist has

chosen

• Although the artist has a vulnerable

facial expression , his eyebrows are

furrowed which can be linked to the

masculine side of the artist

Title

• The font style connotes the graffiti theme and looks rushed

, inferring that the artist does not want the audience to

divert our attention. The font is also consistent throughout

the digi pak

• “F.A.M.E” is in white to stand out from the congested

background

• Large font in capital letters makes the cover stand out

Black and white are two

contrasting colours

• Costume- the artist wears a black suit which portrays a sense of elegance and

formality. This contrasts with the white background, portraying to the audience

that his music makes him pure, and he has to have a mysterious front before

he can show who he truly is , and this could be why the artist is wearing a mask

-The artist is dressed in mostly black, connoting power, fear and mystery

-Represents sophistication and style

• Long shot of the artist

leaning forward, his

positioning resembles that of

Michael Jackson’s. In

reference to the album

cover, the artistic elements

reveal to the audience that

the artist is a talented

dancer, which conforms to

the hip-hop genre because

the artist usually has

choreographed music videos

• Font resembles the

album cover, however

with different colors to

make it visible against

the white background

- Conforms to the artists

genre because it is gold

and bold , which makes a

statement

Page 3: Chris brown digi pak

• Wide shot of Chris

Brown , body

language seems

as if he is

questioning the

audiences

thoughts of the

album

• Pink background

is feminine ,

conveys that he

may be opening

up to the

audience

• Logo for the

record label

• Costume-Wearing gloves and a mask to portray that even though he

is inviting the audience to listen to his album, he is not inviting them

to get to know him because of his masculine persona

-Mask also has connotations to imprisonment, the title “F.A.M.E” implies

that he has to hide who he is , as we know that he has had a violent

past with his ex and the mask could denote that he pity’s himself and is

ashamed

• Font is black and in

capitals

• “Papers, scissors

,rock” – Music industry

is a risky business, the

artist is risking a

normal life for success.

On the front cover he

is not hidden , wereas

on the cd and back

cover he is when the

audience gets closer

to his music

• “All black” – Maybe he has to be in all black so people do fear

him and his music , because it could potentially change lives

• “Next to you”,”Should’ve

kissed you” ,“oh my

love” are love songs .

This conforms to the

stereotypical meanings

of a man linked to the

colour pink. However

this is juxtaposed with

“No bs” and “Bomb”
