Sing Evensong with the Choristers and the full choir in the historic Winchester Cathedral

A free event for boys aged 6-10

• Learn how to play percussion, sing with a choir, take part in a concert and have fun acting and singing in a performance workshop

• Find out what happens in a choral audition

• Play sport, make a chorister medal, meet new friends - unleash that musical talent!

• Sing with the world famous Winchester Cathedral Choristers and Winchester College Quiristers

Come for the morning, the afternoon or the whole day!

Morning session9.00am - 12.00pm Enjoy fun performance activities• Percussion playing• Group singing • Drama workshop • Take part in an informal concertPlay sport and explore the adventure playground

Informal auditions from 12.30pmTake part in a taster informal audition, find out if you could be a chorister!Make a chorister medal in our art studio while you are waiting

Afternoon session 1.45pm - 5.00pmSpend the afternoon with the Choristers• Join a choir practice with the Choristers and Quiristers• Enjoy games and fun in the adventure playground• Perform in an informal concert in the Cathedral

Evensong 5.30pm - 6.10pm Enjoy the rare opportunity to sing the anthem with the Cathedral Choir in the majestic Winchester Cathedral

Information for parents

You are welcome to stay with your son and observe the workshops or you might like to join in with the following activities:

• Sit in on a Chorister or Quirister practice (or both)

• Take an exclusive tour of the College and the Cathedral

• Visit The Pilgrims’ School (the Cathedral school), observe lessons, meet staff and tour the boarding houses

• Meet the Directors of Music for Winchester Cathedral Choir and Winchester College Chapel Choir

• Chat with Chorister parents and find out what it is like to have a musical son!

Tea will be provided before Evensong (free of charge) in the Cathedral for participating families. The school will happily provide lunch for any boys staying for both sessions.
